Muffled roar on the runway
Taking off, flying free
Cheek to window, earth sinking
And in the clouds to beGone away and gone above
Taken by the skiesHead laid back on plaid headrest
Rough cloth seats and fold-down trays
Eyes shut, heading: west
Close the shutter, block sunraysAnd watch the world's weight
Falling from my wingsI'll try to forget
I'll try to forgive
But for now I fly
Because in the sky
Is freedom
