My sweet, light flower
I found you in the field
One cloudless day in AprilBut I picked you
When I never should
Our time began to wane
Your light began to fadeMaybe I should have
Let you be
Let you grow
Let you live
Let you glow
Left you in the ground
Like thatAt least I would
Glimpse you sometimes
At least you might
Wave at me, passing byIt wouldn't be sad
To say goodbye
I'd still know where
Your petals lieNot fading
Not wilting in my vase
Not fallen
Alive and bright of faceAt least I'll have you
As I sleep
You're still the dream
That I will keep
