You were sitting in the audience with your mom (stef) as you watched Brandon play. "Isn't he doing great?" Mom had asked turning to you. "Yeah. He's killing it." You responded.

After Brandon was finished, you greeted him, as he met you guys outside the theater.

"Hey B, you were so good. I'm so proud of you." Mom said as she hugged him. "She's right, you were amazing." You told him as he pulled you into a hug.

You were walking out to the car, so you could get home to everyone. After you got in the car, mom and Brandon were talking about the competition as you sat in the back checking your Instagram.

You finally got home, you and Brandon started walking up to the house while mom was a little behind, your eyes glued to your phone.

You walk in, and put your phone in your pocket knowing momma doesn't like phones out during meals.

"Hey how'd it go?" Momma said, greeting you and Brandon. "Brandon was amazing!" You replied. He chuckled a little bit before announcing... "I made finals!" Momma and the twins started congratulating him.

"Its not that big of a deal." He said. "Uh, yeah. It is." You smirked. "Thats like a $5,000 scholarship." Momma pointed out.

"You should have seen him play!" You added. "Ooh! I'm so proud of you!" Momma squealed.

"When is it?" Mariana had asked. "Its tomorrow, and were all going. So, tomorrow homework right after school please."

This girl walked in and sat at the table. "w-whos this?" Brandon asked, you were wondering the same thing.

"This is Callie. Shes gonna be staying with us for a little while."

"Nice to meet you." Brandon said, you simply waved.

"What about them, how'd you get them? 99 cent store, I mean they have everything there?" Callie retorted.

"Uh, Brandon is my partner Stephanie's biological son from her previous marriage. And y/n, we've had her since she was four, adopted her when she was.." Momma explained, right as mom walked in. "Six." Mom said.

Momma and mom greeted each other. "Hi babies!" Mom said looking at everyone at the table.

"What, no one told you our moms a cop?" Jesus joked to Callie who looked shocked. "See, this is why no boys want to come over." Mariana also joked. "As it should be." Mom responded.

"So, your dykes." Callie said as we all just gave her a look.

"Actually, they prefer the term people." You retorted. I can't believe she just said that, you thought."But yeah, they're gay." You finished.

"And he's the real son." She said pointing to Brandon. Unbelievable.

Mom, sarcastically chuckled to what Callie had just said. "And who's this?" Mom looked over to momma.

At that point mom and momma had walked outside. You assume momma is explaining the situation.

Eventually everyone finished dinner, and went to get ready for bed. Except Callie, you think moms are going over the house rules and stuff.

You and Mariana were brushing your teeth. "Who does that girl think she is? I mean she was so rude at dinner." You complained.

"I know." Mariana responded.

"And what gave her the right to use that nasty word? I mean what was up with that?" You snapped again.

You went with Mariana to her room. You both sat on her bed as Jesus came in, and they started talking in Spanish. You were on your phone pretending not to listen.

Mom had walked in as they were speaking. "Hey, you two know the rules." She's obviously picked up on her Spanish lessons. She told them no speaking in Spanish-- literally in Spanish.

Jesus noticed her skills as he complemented her Spanish. Mariana just kind of looked out of it, mom noticed too apparently.

"You guys know that its not true what Callie said, huh?" Mom asked as she held your shoulder.

"You three are every bit as much our kids as Brandon is, yes?" She continued.

"Yeah." You said. "We know." Jesus also responded. Mariana sat there still looking at the floor.

"Mariana?" Mom questioned. Mariana turned to look at mom, then smiled as she nodded. "Ok." Mom responded before kissing your cheeks. "I love you my babies." She told you guys. "Love you too." You each responded. "Fifteen minutes till lights out, okay?" She said as she got up, and walked out.

"Well, I'm going to bed. Night guys." You said as you walked to your room. "Night." They told you.
