Your family was gathered in the kitchen as they cleaned up for dinner.
"What's the matter?" Mama had asked seeing as Mariana was pouting on her phone.
"The girls on the dance team keep posting pictures of them hanging out. How come they didn't invite me?" She wined.
"Maybe because you're E-stalking them." Jesus remarked.
"I am not." Mariana argued.
"Mariana, please help your siblings here." Mama told her as the rest of you were already cleaning up.
"So, when do we get to hear something?" Mom had asked Brandon about his music. Brandon was now playing with Mats band.
"I don't know. I don't really think inviting my moms to band practice is the best idea this early in the creative process." Brandon told her. "But, I'll let you know when the single drops."
"I see." Mom started. "You know what? He doesn't think we're cool enough. You know, your mother and I used to listen to rock and roll all of the time."
"Like who?" You asked.
"Like Springsteen and REM... Bananarama." Mama answered.
"I cannot believe you just said that." Mom responded to Mamas list. "I will let you know that I went to a Nirvana concert, once."
"Ooh." Mariana said.
"So why'd you stop?" Brandon asked. "Listening, I mean."
"Just... remember all of those dance parties we used have all of the time?" She asked Mama. "I don't know... I guess we just got busy." This time speaking to Brandon.
"So, what's the deal with this weekend?" Jesus had asked. "Aren't you guys doing some kind of baby moon thing, or something?"
"Well, Your Grandma had a shuffle in her conference plans and she isn't able to stay with you guys." Mama replied.
"Meaning, the babymoons just going to have to wait." Mom finished.
"What's a babymoon?" Jude had asked.
"It's basically a honeymoon except you're not going away after your wedding, but instead after you get pregnant." Mom informed him. "You know, cause once the baby comes there's no time for fun, or travel, or romance."
"I think you guys should still go. I mean, we're old enough to stay alone for one night." Callie suggested.
"That is a very nice offer, sweetie, thank you." Mom responded. "But, I don't think so."
"You know, we could put Callie and Brandon in charge, honey." Mama suggested.
"I- uh, I'm not-, I don't know that..." Mom stumbled on her words.
"Honey, we need this." Mama told her wife. "It's just for one night."

The next day at school you sat with your friends at lunch as usual. "So, are you coming over tonight?" You asked your best friend.
"Actually, I'm going to hang out with David." She said.
"Really?" You asked. "What are you guys doing?"
"We're going to a bonfire at the beach." She said. "They'll probably be a bunch of sophomores there though, so I won't really know anyone.
"What happened to not being ready for a relationship?" You asked her.
"I said that I would see where things go. This lets me do just that." She said. "You can come too if you'd like."
