Rachel's POV:

Dad rushes away from the table, leaving me speechless.

LeRoy gets up, but I shake my head. "I'll find him. You guys can continue eating."

I stand up, and walk out of the room. First, I check the living room, but all I see is the special chair that Finn always talks about, and their dad's ashes. It's nice that Burt let them keep that.

Next, I check the basement, but the only people I can see are family pictures of Kurt and Finn.

I walk upstairs until I get to their parents rooms, but once again, nothing.

"Hiram!" I call out, but get no reply.

I look out the window, and see that it's raining. I look closer, and notice a man. I finally realize that the man is my father, and rush towards the door.

Before I go outside, I grab my jacket, and put it on.

I open the door, and am greeted by cold wind and rain.

I shiver, and walk towards my dad. He is sitting on a stair, shaking, but I can't figure out if he is shaking because he is crying, cold, or both.

"Daddy, are you okay?" I ask.

He sniffs, the cold rain hitting our heads.

"Go inside, Rachel. Please." He says without looking up.

I nod, and walk inside. I grab a towel and his jacket, and walk outside again.

"I'm not leaving you outside in these conditions." I tell him, laying his jacket over his shoulders.

I then take the towel and try to dry his face, soon realizing that the towel is only getting soaked from the rain.

"Why are you mad?" I whisper.

He looks at me, his eyes red with a mixture of tears and rain.

"It's all too fast." He quietly says.

I give him a confused look. "Life." He says.

I give him another confused look, telling him to explain.

"First, you begin to walk and talk. Soon enough, you're out with your friends. I'm just not ready for you to reach the next stage. Leaving home. Once you move out, you don't come back, Rachel. You're all that we've got." He cries, and I lean my head on his cold shoulder.

"You've got each other, and I'm sure I'll come back at least once a week. Who else would do my laundry?" I joke, and he laughs.

"I'm happy for you. You found the love of your life, and you may be young, but I'm sure as hell that you're happy. That's really all that matters to me. Your happiness and safety." He says, and kisses the top of my head.

"I love you." I say, my makeup beginning to run down my face. Not because I'm crying, but because of the rain pouring down.

I hear thunder, and we both stand up.

We walk inside, where we are instantly greeted by Finn and Burt.

"Let me help you out." Burt tells my dad, who thanks him.

"Rach, let's get you cleaned up." Finn smiles, leading me downstairs.

"I look like a raccoon. Right?" I laugh, and he smirks.

"Prettiest raccoon I have ever seen."

I smack his arm playfully, and he walks over to his dresser.
