Day 7 —What sets you apart from the crowd?
-
What sets me apart form the crowd?
First off; I don't immediately answer this, which crowd?
At the grocery store, what sets me apart from the crowd is that I love being there, most days. I love grabbing banana's and apples and a 24 pack of water. I love climbing the racks to grab a box of cereal for my mother. I love checking off items for a list. I love being productive. But I still ask; which crowd?
What sets me apart from society; the largest crowd? That's a trick question. Nothing. I am part of society. Every human being is. Every human being has a place in society, a roll in it. Everyone has a place, with other people in that category too. No one can judge society, without passing judgment upon their self. They might play a different role in society, but from the moment you come into the world, you are alive; you are society; I say this knowing I'll pass the judgment onto myself also: Society is vicious, and I wish that you could escape it.
I think the general response to this is
" I do ____________ "
I think if you want that type of answer, you've came to the wrong place. If you insist, the thing that sets me apart from the crowd is my entirety. I answered this differently than most.
But here is what I really think:
There is no answer for this, we are all unique in some way, you've been told that your entire life. I think (this is my religion, if you choose to disagree with it, that's FINE.) we are all created (again, if you believe we appeared randomly, or came from a monkey. FINE. I don't, this isn't the place to argue it. If you'd like to discuss, ask for my email in the comments.) uniquely.
[Without all the parenthesis, that reads like this: There is no answer for this, we are all unique in some way, you've been told that your entire life. I think we are all created uniquely.]
This post is messy and disorganized, and includes my opinion, which any journalist knows you don't include in an article. It has so much potential, though. I could write a book from this one question, because it is SO ROOTED. It is only one leaf on the tree of life, it travels through an intricate system of cells, it is rooted into the soil. It has many paths. One day look for this book. I intended to write it.
So, What sets me apart from the crowd?
That's a loaded question.
