Her name was Mirna Rockburt. She was 62 and she lived in our second floor guest bedroom. She worked Monday through Friday and she spent every weekend except holidays away. As far as I know she had no husband, no kids, no family. No one but the Hills, and technically she didn't even have us. That doesn't make what I did -- or thought I'd done any better. My name is Jeremy Charles Hill, and this is the story of how I killed my maid.

Our family lived in a million dollar home, with 7 bedrooms, and 5 bathrooms. We had a pool, golfcart, treehouse (literally, it was like a mini-house with electricity and everything just kinda, built into a tree), and also we lived less than a mile away from a country club. We had a chef, a maid, and all sorts of personal fitness people. (Although, my mom didn't let the chef cook our meals, Robert only came in on holidays, or birthdays when my mom needed a little extra help with cakes or turkeys.) That isn't really the point of this story, though. The point here is, I'm totally going to live the rest of my life guilty for putting her into the ground.

She was the new maid. Our old maid Tara had outgrown the maid job, she went to law school and became our lawyer. So along came Mirna. To be honest I didn't like her. I was 15 years old and she asked me if I needed help with my homework. She would obsessively make lists of things to clean and what to clean with and that could have been because she knew my mom had high standards but she put them everywhere. On doors and windows and her room was full of them. Also, she called me Jimmy and told me if I wanted a cookie I needed to be good. Anyways, her death was unexpected.

You'll never believe how it happened...
