DAY 17

Day 17 - Write a short scenario set in the kitchen of a fast-food restaurant.

Do not burn down your 12th grade english teachers desk, even if it is for senior prank, and even if you're drunk as a skunk. Do not do it, you will end up working in an In-N-Out Burger. Your mom will not be happy with you, and your gutair will not fund you across the country. Unless you are Jace Roland, then; you will do all of that, and you'll meet a girl you will fall in love with. You'll break her heart, but she is the purest human; with the most forgiving heart. In the end, you'll be happy. This story isnt the fairytale, though. Disney will never make this a movie, they have higher goals than characters who flip burgers.

Here's how we met:

We both worked at In-N-Out, and guess what: we both dropped out of school. That was the first sign, she wouldn't judge me because she was in my shoes. I like that in a lady- not big feet, the non judging thing. Also, her job was to clean things. She wasn't afraid to come into my life and deal with the mess that was Jace. She wasn't afraid to get dirty, and just for everyone wondering she didn't clean toilets. I am not poop. That was not the implied metaphor.

Anyways, we met in the kitchen. I was flipping burgers, my dream job of course, she was calling out orders and wiping down counters. I noticed her watching the clock, as if this was her hell and she needed ice water. "Ready to leave?" I asked her, handing her an order. "Aren't you?" she scoffed and looked at me "No, I love cooking burgers," I said sarcastically "Helps get the ladies." "Won't help get me." She smiled and called the customers order.

"I'm Emily, by the way." "Jace, and we will see about that whole 'cooking can't woo you over' thing."

Little did we know, we would fall in love. She would be wooed by my cooking; even if she didn't want to admit it.
