I looked at a valentines dance poster on the wall.

Well winter formal to be specific but everyone knows it might as well be a valentines dance since it falls on the weekend.

I was waiting for the bell to ring while watching all the students converse with each other.

Raymond wasn't at school today so I was lonely, it'd been so long since I remember how school was before Raymond came.

School flies by when you have a friend as amazing as Raymond.

He was one of those boys you could converse with about anything and he wouldn't judge you, instead he'd give you real good advice on how not to make the same mistake again.

That's what I loved about him.

We've been friends for 3 weeks now and it's been wonderful. It feels like I've known him my whole life which is why I can call him my bestfriend this early in the relationship.

I told him about Raymond last week and it was very awkward. He didn't give as good advice as he usually gives me on other topics.

*flashback*

"Hey Raymond?"

"Yeah." He answered back while staring at me with an apple in his hand.

We were on our usual spot in the library and I was about to ask him for advice.

"So..... I've been talking to this boy for a while now and I don't know how to make the relationship move.... forward." I told him as his eyes lit up.

He set his book down and sat up getting engaged in the conversation.

"Well, what makes you think.. that he doesn't want to move forward in the relationship?"

I sighed deeply gathering my thoughts before answering,

"Well, we've been in the talking stage for about 3 weeks now and I mean it's nice but, you know I think I'm really starting to catch feelings for this guy." He nodded his head smiling softly.

"I like you t-" he said before I interrupted him with something that popped up in my head.

"He's also kind of a 'hood guy' if you can say, and I've never really been around those type of boys... so I don't know."

He grew quiet with a sad look on his face.

"Oh I'm sorry for interrupting you, what were you going to say?"

"Oh... I forgot." He stated while looking down.

"Okay. But his names Raymond, and I've only been on 1 date with him and seen him one other time, which is the first day we met and he still manages to make me nervous. Even when we text." I smiled looking away while playing with my white polished nails.

"He gives me butterflies just by saying his name, and.... I don't know if he even feels the same way." I looked up at Raymond as he cleared his throat.
