I took my time walking to the town, wanting to give the Destroyer time to make a mess. What I found was...conflicting.
Thor was on the ground, Jane kneeling over him. I felt my face lose all color as I saw the Destroyer standing a few yards away. It felt like my fault.
"Thor!" I yelled, running to him. His eyes were closed, and his breathing shallow.
"No!" Jane said.
"It's over." Thor whispered.
"No no it's not over." Jane said desperately.
"I mean you're safe."
"I'm safe." Jane nodded.
"It's over." Thor room in a heavy breath and Jane whispered, "No."
I heard the Destroyer begun to walk away. I swallowed hard and clenched my fists. Ice formed on my fists and I took a deep breath.
"Dammit, Thor!" I yelled, fighting back tears. I turned to watch the Destroyer leave, but did not pursue it. I heard something, faint and thick, like...
"Jane!" A voice called. I saw Erik pulling Jane away. I raised my head.
"Mjolnir!" I gasped. All of a sudden, Thor's hand shot up to grab it.
As he stood, his armor pieced itself on him. The other Asgardians smiled, and the humans looked on in shock.
"Run!" I yelled, doing so. The others ran back, away from Thor. The tornado that raged near us flashed with fire and the Destroyer slammed onto the ground.
The tornado dissipated and Thor walked towards us. Sif and the Three stood a bit farther back, and Erik Selvig and Jane Foster stood near Thor. I walked up next to my brother and smiled at him.
"So is this how you normally look?" Jane asked.
"More or less." Thor said.
"It's a good look." Jane said.
"We must go to the Bifrost site. I will have words with my brother." Thor said.
"Excuse me!" The man from before, Agent Coulson. Thor and I walked towards him.
"Donald. I don't think you've been completely honest with me-"
"Know this, son of Coul." Thor said. "You and I, we fight for the same cause-the protection of this world. From this day forward, you can count me as your ally. If-" he stepped back next to Jane. "-you return the items you have taken from Jane."
"Stolen." Jane imputed. I looked from Thor to Coulson.
"Borrowed." Coulson said. "Of course you can have your equipment back. You're going to need to to continue your research."
"Would you like to see the bridge we spoke of?" Thor asked.
"Uh...sure?" Jane said.
"You can't ride it, but it is quite the sight." I said, smirking and punching Thor's arm as I walked to the Three and Sif.
Thor pulled Jane to him and flew away, ignoring Coulson's protests. I rolled my eyes. Thor and his women.
