The Weakness

Erin saw Loki fly off on a hovercraft in the corner of her eye. Thor winced.

He nodded and they jumped down off of Stark tower.

Thor summoned lightning and took out a dozen Chitari as they landed.

"What's the story upstairs?" Steve asked, walking over to Thor and Erin.

"The power surrounding the cube is impenetrable." Thor said.

"Thor's right. So we gotta deal with these guys." Stark said through Steve's mask.

"So how're we gonna do this?" Steve asked.

"As a team." Natasha said.

"I have unfinished business with Loki." Thor said.

"Yeah? Get in line." Barton called. Erin pulled a small rod from her belt and it grew to a 6-foot long staff.

"Save it. Loki's gonna keep this fight focused on us and that's what we need." Steve said. "Without it these things could run wild." He stopped walking next to Erin.

"We get Stark up top. He's gonna need us to-" He was interrupted by an engine sputtering to a stop. They looked to see Bruce sitting on an old motorcycle and approached him.

"So." Bruce looked around. "This all seems horrible."

"I've seen worse." Natasha muttered.

"Sorry." Bruce said.

"No. We could...use...a little worse."

Natasha and Steve spoke into their earpieces. Bruce noted Erin's red-colored eyes and blue tinted skin. She smiled weakly at him, and he gave her a sympathetic nod.

Suddenly, a giant centipede interrupted everything.

They all turned to see Stark flying towards them, tailed by the metal insect.

"I don't see how that's a party." Natasha muttered.

Bruce walked towards it. Erin gripped her staff, causing it to ice over.

"Dr. Banner. Now might be a really good time for you to get angry."

"That's my secret, Captain. I'm always angry." Bruce turned away and turned into the Hulk. Erin blinked as he stopped the beast with a single punch.

"I guess that's one way to do it." She muttered. Stark ran past her.

"Hold on!" He shot the beast with an energy beam and it exploded. Erin made ice protect her from the parts that came her way.

The insect crashed onto the ground and Hulk roared.
