When we came home to thank Kyle for getting us together, we find him on the couch holding hands with Jenna.
“Nothing happened before tonight, I swear.” He explained to me sheepishly. “We only got together a few minutes earlier.”
“Congratulations.” I said, happy for all of us.
“Thanks for the tickets Kyle, and for everything else.” Shann said.
“It’s the least I can do, it’s partly my fault why you to got so messed up. Glad it worked out.” He replied with a big smile. “My sister is a total disaster without you. And you were totally depressed without her, so I figured you two must have had something pretty special going on.”
“We do,” Shann and I said in Unison.
“Besides I realized my old and stupid ways. I realized that if you told me I am not allowed to go out with Jenna, I’d be pretty angry too.” He put his arm around Jenna. “But if you treat my sister the way you treat your other girlfriends, I swear I’m gonna kill you.” He joked.
I glanced at Shann and raised my eyebrows questioningly. Kyle had a point there. “I love her, how could I treat her badly?” he said directly looking at me.
My heart filled with happiness.
“As for the lying thing” Kyle continued. “I still wish you hadn’t, but I kind of understand now why you two did, I’m kind of flexible and stubborn.”
“That’s an understatement!” I, Jenna and Shann cried in unison.
There were now two happiest nights in my life, I thought as I looked at Kyle and Shann’s happy faces. The first, when the doctor told me the bone marrow transplant had worked and I have no leukemia anymore, and second, the night I got reunited with my brother and Shann.
