Chapter 3: The wrong words

Ruby POV:

We were now walking to my house. Sapphire walked beside me and looked pretty happy for someone who's near me. I really wished that I didn't have to deal with her today but I already said that is ok. " So in which subjects are you bad?" I looked at her " Why do you ask?" she giggled a little " Well I am your tutor and it will be easier if you tell me now." I sighed " Well let say that math isn't my best subject, also I think that in Literature I am the worse." I pause to think of more but in the other subjects I was ok or not in that kind of condition " I think that's all." she nodded. " Then next question what do you do?" she asked me and smiled. " I don't know torturing myself." I shrugged " No I mean for fun." she said " For fun, huh? Maybe playing baseball. I don't know recently I don't do anything fun." I said and looked at the ground. " Are you-"

" And here are we." I cut her off. 

Sapphire POV:

I looked at the house that we were stopped. It looked nice it  was all in white and has more squarish form rather than pentagon one. Ruby went closer to the door and opened it. Everything was painted in white and If it wasn't painted in white It was gray. " Where do you want to study?" she asked me " Wherever you are comfortable." I said and smiled at her. Ruby sighed " Come then." she lead me to the second floor and walked through a short corridor and she opened a door. " Welcome to my room." she said. I looked around everything in this room was in red. It looked like a normal room a bed, a nightstand, a desk, a wardrobe,windows of course. She had her laptop on the desk and a chair. " Sit here." she took out a chair and put it beside the desk " I will be right back." and with that she left the room. I looked around one more time one thing caught my gaze she had a mini book cabinet. I stood up and went to check it out. When I saw it I was amazed she had so many books and they were put in order according to their genre and colour. " Woah... this is amazing." I said quietly. Of course I had books at home too put their are not that well...put. I looked at the tags she had put. There were fantasy, horror, dictionaries, art theory, encyclopedias and... psychology. I took one of the psychologies book and looked it. There were so many bookmarks put in it. I opened a page that was separate with red bookmark. I started reading the syndromes written about this...sickness?! Most of the syndromes really matches with Ruby's character. I looked up to see what's the name of this sickness but...

" Hey Sapphire sorry I am a bit late." she said. I put the book and sat on my chair really fast so she can't notice that I was touching her things ' I bet if she knew what was I doing while she was out she will be frustrate.' . Ruby put a plate of biscuits on the desk and a nice set of tea " Sorry but  we don't have any other drinks." she said and scratched the back of her neck " It's fine I prefer tea. Thanks." she gave me the cup and went to get her books. I was about to drink when " Be careful the tea is really hot." too late I already drank some " Auch..." I burnt my tongue Ruby laughed a little " Told you." she said " Very funny. Can I have a cold water?" I asked " No." I looked at her confused " Why not?" I asked. She sighed " Listen don't drink cold water after you drank or ate something hot that will affect bad you teeths." she said and put her books on the desk. " I didn't know that." I was amazed that she knew something like that " Here have a mentos if you want to cool down a bit." I took the mentos " Thanks. From where did you learn this thing about the teeths?" I asked curious to know " Well when you go many times to hospital you start to learn really interesting things." she said " Ohh..." I looked at my cup " Did you...go many times to hospital?" I asked ' Hopefully she doesn't get angry' " Yeah. Like about 2 or 3 times a week." she said like it was something casual " Why so many? Is someone sick?" I asked worried " Yeah me.". Ruby was smiling but not that cute and bright smile that I saw in Rose's office now it looked more maniacal " You? But you look perfectly healthy." she opened her math book " Good to hear. Now will tutor me or what?" ' Why is she acting so strange? Did she lied just lied to me?'

I started explaining some parts and for my surprise she got them pretty fast. " Woah...You get the things pretty fast." I said still amazed " Really? You think so?" she asked and I nodded. She started laughing " You really are very naive." she said I got a bit angry ' Why is she laughing? Isn't she happy that she get the things now? "Excuse me why am I stupid?" I asked with angry tone " The truth is didn't get it all. But why do I have to learn it that way." I looked at her questioned " Is there any other way?" I asked still angry " Well there isn't other way until you create one." ' Is she crazy?' " Look! I am gonna solve this my way." I looked at her notebook. She didn't use formulas nor any hard theoremes she just solve it a whole other way " And the answer is -2." Ruby said ' I highly doubt that this is a way worked.' " Are you sure?" I asked " We can check the answers. But I pretty sure that I got it right." " Do you want to bet on that?"  she smirked at me " Sure what will be the bet?" a smile crossed my face " If I win you will solve this my way."  I told her " And If you lose?" she asked " I will have lunch with you. Deal?" she laughed a bit " Deal is when both sides gain something what do I gain if you have lunch with me?" she tilted her head " Company." I said with all my confidence. Ruby blushed a bit but her blush vanished fast. I opened on the last page where the answers were " And the answers is...-2. I can't believe it!" ' How is that even possible?'  " Heh told you." she said and smirked again " I win." " Yeah good for you but if you can solve this kind of problems then  you don't need a  tutor." she laughed again ' I wonder what's so funny.' She looked at me with her brown eyes " Yeah I know but let's just say that the teachers don't like the way I do things." Ruby said and smiled. This smile looked so pained it almost tore my heart. " Guess I win." I said to her " WHAT!?? You lost." she said suddenly surprised " No I won." I said and smirked at her " How the fuck did you won?" she asked confused " Because I get to have lunch with you." her look softened  " If you can call this a win." she rolled her eyes.

" Ruby?" I grabbed at her so that I can draw her attention. She looked at me questioned and somehow scared " Why do you look down on yourself?" I asked. Her looked changed to completely blank expression " What do you know?" she whispered " What?" I asked then her blank expression changed to an angry one " WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT ME?!" she yelled " I didn-" " YOU DIDN'T WHAT!? MEANT TO HURT ME! WELL  GUESS WHAT I AM DEAD INSIDE NO ONE CAN HURT ME!... not anymore." she whispered the last part " Ruby I am.." I wanted to comfort her " I think it will be the best if you leave." she looked at the ground. I looked at her she was shaking. I grabbed my stuff and she lead me to the exit and slammed the door. ' Well that didn't went well.' I thought while I was walking to my home lucky it was still bright ' I will have a long and detailed conversation with Rose tomorrow but first I have to find a way to apologize to Ruby. I didn't want to hurt her. What should I do?'
