When the depression and suicidal thoughts kick in, I find myself listening to my favorite band. I know that might sounds cliche but for me it works. Of course I know we are all different. Some of us might write down our thoughts and some might just go off the grid for a while. How ever you deal with it is  unique to each of us. Music allows me to escape into another world. I also have found that when there is one person who gets how it is then you feel different. When I talked to my aunt about my depression she understood and she made the world seem less heavy. Just one person knowing you need a life line can save you a little each day. Trust me some days it feels as if that lifeline is gonna snap but then when you pull on it , its stronger then ever. That's my mission with this advice series. If I can save just one life then I know I am helping someone deal with what life is throwing at them.

Yes I know it can be hard to trust people nowadays. whatever your reasons for being guarded I understand. Not everyone who says they will listen actually does. So if you think I won't listen to your concerns and worries, then I can only show you through my actions. I know it can be scary to trust people but sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith.  When I opened up to my boyfriend ( on the first date might I add) I was surprised with how protective he was even on a first date. Here we are 2 years later and he still knows how hard it is for me. He is patient with my concerns about getting hurt and feeling worthless. Your other half is out there wanting to love you. Don't be blinded by the fog and miss the chance to connect with someone who totally and completely understands. You are all worth it and true unconditional love will prevail. I promise you that until then I will be your guiding light in the storm.
