CHAPTER FIFTY-FIVE: DIRTY LITTLE SECRET
"You know why I'm here right?" Marshall gave me a little visit the next morning.
"Yeah, I know. You're going to lecture me about another set of stupid rumors that has something to do with me and One Direction." I said monotonously.
"Yep. Thanks for saying what I came here to do but I guess I won't be lecturing you anymore. I'll just write a rap for you in my new album so that all you have to do is play it on repeat. Goodbye." He ruffled my hair.
Okay... that was quicker than I thought.
"Was that your manager just now?" Liam still had his apron on.
"Uh-huh. What are you making?" I asked with a sudden interest.
"Uh, that's the thing... I can't make anything out of your limited ingredients. I think I'd have to run by to the store for a bit." He said.
"Okay, bye." I made my way up the stairs but stopped midway.
"Oh, did you want me to come with you?" I turned to look at him.
He just nodded in return.
******
"Uh, why am I wearing a blonde wig again?" Liam asked.
"It's a disguise. Deal with it." I have enough rumors going on right now... no need to add another one on the list.
I made him disguise as my gay personal dance instructor named Leroy, with the pink headband and all.
I just wore a hoodie and a cheap mustache which doesn't really count as a disguise but I guess it'll do since we're only going to the supermarket.
"Hurry up with the shopping okay? I'll just wander around for a bit..." I inserted both of my hands in my pocket.
"Aren't you going to help me shop? I do have a LONG list that I could definitely need your help with."
"And I'm sure that you'll do just fine. Bye!" I skidded away from him.
*LIAM'S POV*
I can't believe Cher left me just like that... and here I was expecting us to have a splendid 'romantic' time together!
Shopping like what most normal couples do, minus the ridiculous outfits.
I obviously had to do the groceries all by myself in a freaking blonde wig with a headband and a tracksuit which earned me a few looks from other people who probably thinks that I'm gay.
I hurried for my sake and when it was my turn to pay at the cash register, I only realized then that I didn't have any money on me.
"Hold on for a sec. I just need to make a quick call to my... friend?" I wasn't really sure of what to call Cher especially in our strange get-ups.
"Next!" Jeez, the cashier woman sure is impatient!
"Wait! I only need a sec---"
"We'll be paying with this credit card." Cher unexpectedly placed an arm around my shoulders as she handed the cashier her card.
"What an odd-looking couple." The cashier woman whispered loud enough for us to hear.
"Ahem, we're still here you know?" Cher looked like she was offended.
"What? Just because this guy right here is gay and I like to dress up as a suspicious-looking dude doesn't mean that we're a couple! I'm straight." Cher added.
"Right." The woman eyed us skeptically.
"Some people..." Cher sighed and this made me laugh inside for some reason.
"Wait up, your credit card has the name 'Cher Lloyd' engraved on it..." The woman behind the counter said.
"Yeah, you got a problem with that? I mean, we're just posers." Cher tried to cover up.
"I guess this is the part wherein you act gay..." She whispered to me.
I don't get what that has to do with anything though but oh well.
"Your shirt's fugly, woman." I stated awkwardly. It means f*cking ugly and I just said it because I feel like it.
Cher burst out laughing and high-fived me as we walked away with the groceries.
"Why'd you made me act gay? Is it part of the disguise thing that we're doing?" I asked her.
"Nah, just thought I could use some entertainment..." She winked at me which made me forgive her right away.
*CHER'S POV*
I'm starting to like having Liam around... let's just say he 'changed' a bit in a good way. He isn't that grumpy and strict anymore.
You could also say that he's my 'dirty little secret' that I keep in my closet if you know what I mean. Well, minus the 'dirty' part.
Anyway, I was just rolling on my bed reading fanfics in wattpad when I suddenly heard a noise coming from my window.
"Surprise!" Zayn emerged out of my window which I should've never left unlocked in the first place in case something like this ever happens.
"..." Obviously, I had nothing to say to him.
"Yes, Cher, I AM." He sat on my bed.
"You're what?" I asked.
"Well, I AM a lot of things like the perfect boyfriend that any girl could ask for, someone who has the perfect abs that you could freely touch whenever you want---" He started babbling.
"Just get to the point, Zayn." I got impatient.
"Okay, I... paint." He admitted.
"And?" I arched an eyebrow.
"What? You still don't get it? Well, I was the one who made you the portrait and sent you the note in your locker. Thus, you could say that I'm your secret admirer all along..." He said.
"WHAT?!" I never suspected this guy! Not even once!
"And that's my dirty little secret... which isn't really 'dirty' but you get the point." He smiled dazzlingly.
"And why are you telling me this?" I quickly recovered from the shock.
"Because... I've decided that I won't be keeping any secrets from you anymore which includes my secret courting and from now on, I'm going to do it out in the open with a more 'public' approach." He explained.
I kind of prefer the 'private' approach though...
"But that's only one of the three reasons that I came here for... the second one being this..." He tried to kiss me but I bobbed my head just in time for defense.
"Ow!" He rubbed his forehead and I grinned triumphantly.
"Was that necessary?!" He shrieked.
"Of course it was." I scoffed.
"Okay... I guess I deserved that. Moving on..." He composed himself.
Then he kneeled down on one leg saying,
"Thirdly, will you be my girlfriend?"
