I sat in the chair and just watched Gavin while sipping my coffee. I started to notice things I normally in a person.
Gavin was a wearing a black long sleeved shirt and a green apron, even though it was almost 100°F today. No one else was wearing a long sleeved shirt but Gavin.
He was also always smiling, always covering up lies and hurt behind his emerald green eyes. I looked past all of it; all the hurt, all the pain, all the lies. I knew how hurt he was from only a glance.
His smile, his eyes, and his love only showed a world. A world full of hate, where only one person stood. Him. Alone. Begging for help to no one.
~~~A few hours later~~~
I've ordered a total of three cups of coffee, two muffins, and 1 cup of pomagranete tea that I was still working on.
Gavin walked over to his co-workers and told them something just out of earshot, making me lean forward a little but still missing in the end. While talking to one of his co-workers he swiftly took off his apron. Watching him made me blush. It was like watching him getting undressed.
Hold the fuck up! Blush? What the fuck is happening here? There is no way I am gay! There is no way I'm falling in love with this idiot. No way in hell!
Gavin disappeared to the back room. After waiting for three minutes Gavin had gotten his phone and a satchel. His satchel was a midnight black. His hair - messy. His eyes - twinkling. His mouth - smiling. Him - perfect.
Okay, so I'm going to be blunt here; no questioning if I was in love because I knew I am. I whispered to myself that I was and that was when everything froze.
Gavin frozen five feet away, a business person with their mouth open waiting to say something, a mother holding her son at the entrance. They were all frozen. All waiting patiently for life to continue.
I never did notice the woman dressed in a crisp grey suit standing next to me, waiting to say something.
After finding out about her presence I looked at her and waited. I wasn't dumb, I noticed her steadily breathing. Her chest slowly rising and falling.
"Who the hell are you?" I found myself asking.
"Gracie McCullian" she replied. "I am here to tell you that you cannot fall in love with Gavin David Free."
"Why the fuck not?" I asked irritated.
"Gavin Free is not like you. He is special. Ever noticed that tattoo on his arm? B24601?"
"Yes" I said like it was obvious.
"That tattoo does not mean that he was a prisoner of Earth but, a prisoner of hate and love. Gavin can never experience love because his great-great-great grandfather broke so many hearts. When his grandfather stumbled upon a genie, the genie said that he would grant him any three wishes but that five generations later his family would be cursed. Of course his greedy grandfather agreed to this because he was not personally affected by this. They would be cursed that they could only feel hate from others and they would be forced to put on a cover to not let it show." she explained.
"And if I don't listen to this non-sense?" I asked coldly.
"Michael, do not fall in love with Gavin Free. This is a forbidden love between you two." she said and disappeared as quickly as she appeared earlier.
