Thomas had went back to the office at the request of Washington. Washington didn't want him to do anything impulsive that could hurt another one of his best agents.

Thomas had been pacing around the room for half an hour, worried sick for his partner.

Well, not just his partner.

His love, his friend, his favorite enemy.

His Alexander.

Thomas pulled at his ebony curls until tears pricked his eyes as he listed 'What ifs':

"Sir! Please, we have to go now. What if he's being killed as we speak? What if he's being tortured? What if---?"

"JEFFERSON!" Washington cut him off loudly, his frustrated, deep voice echoing slightly.

Jefferson flinched, and turned his panicked, desperate gaze to his boss. Washington sighed.

"I'm sorry. But, we need to stay calm. For Alex's sake, okay?" Washington gave him a weak smile. This hurt him as bad or maybe worse then it hurt Thomas, who had only known the true Alexander for a few days.

Thomas nodded faintly, sitting down in one of the office chairs and bowing his head tiredly.

A loud ringtone saved Thomas and George from the awkward silence that had begun to fill the room. Washington hastily pulled his cellphone out and put it on speaker. Peggy's voice rang around the large office.

"H-hello? W-washington, sir?" Peggy asked in a horror-filled voice.

"Peggy? What's wrong?" Washington asked immediately, brows furrowing as he glanced at Thomas. Thomas stood up slowly.

"S-sir. The man who kidnapped him, I-I assume George King, he-he hacked into the system and started streaming a-a video of him." Peggy sounded absolutely terrified. Thomas's eyes widened. He ran out the door before Washington could stop him.

"Can you trace where it's coming from?" Washington forced his voice to be steady, and sighed when Thomas ran off.

"I tried, sir. But he keeps rerouting his server every few minutes." Peggy replied, sounding distracted.

"Keep trying. He'll slip up at some point." Washington ordered.

"Yes, sir.." Peggy whispered.

Washington was about to warn Peggy that Thomas was coming when he heard a door being forced open on the other side of the line. Washington hung up and sat down at his desk to look through the case file again.

---

Thomas couldn't breathe, whatever was on screen was not Hamilton. Not his Alexander.

Alexander didn't have scars down his arms and face and who knows where else. He didn't sport a black eye like that. Chains shouldn't be holding him tight to a wooden chair and he shouldn't look absolutely...

Dead.

Thomas ran towards the monitor and shook it, tears finally falling down his face.

"OhgodpleaseAlexnoicantloseyoutoo." Thomas babbled, sobbing.

Peggy tried to pry him off the screen desperately. "Thomas, please. He's still alive. Calm down!"

Peggy pulled him to the floor and stepped away.

Thomas barely felt his butt thump harshly onto the floor as he looked up at the screen excitedly.

Alexander had awoken.

~×~

Alex slowly opened his eyes. Well, one of his eyes. The other one had swollen into a black eye. He groaned loudly and tried to shuffle about, only for a sharp pain to bite at him and force him to stop. Alexander sobbed quietly.

"Thomas..." He muttered, tears forming and falling onto the floor.

This wasn't fair.

Why did it always seem like he could never just die?

Thomas visibly jumped when he heard Alexander utter his name.

"Alex?" Thomas asked, staring up at the screen hopefully.

Peggy smiled slightly and was about to inform Thomas that she had managed to grab an address for where Hamilton was when Angelica came in.

"I came as soon as I heard. Where's Thomas?"

Angelica asked, and when Peggy pointed to the mess on the floor, she ran towards Jefferson and knelt down beside him.

"What's wrong?" Angelica asked, putting her hands on his shoulders soothingly.

Thomas immediately pulled away from her. He was silent as he pointed at the screen.

Angelica looked up and froze.

"S-so that's..." She trailed off.

"Yes." Thomas mumbled back, tears renewing and rolling down his cheeks.

Angelica shook her head and pulled Thomas up by the arm.

"It's okay, come on, get to the SUVs, Peggy finally found their location and we're going to save him. Come on." Angelica soothed as she pulled him towards the door, forcing him to look forward and get suited up.

~×~

Alex looked around weakly. The room was empty, save for the bright lightbulb on the ceiling, a dark box of some sort and a table with a tray of bloody weapons.

Alexander stared at the door hopefully. He wished that Thomas and the team would run in, and if not them, then King. Maybe George would end his suffering once and for all.

Alexander suddenly snapped his head up as he heard the loud yell of:

"George King, it's the FBI, open up!" Followed by loud bangs.

At least one of his prayers had been answered.
