Chapter 7 .-.

False Alarm?

Eris woke up around 9:30 the next day. She got up out of her bed an grabbed her laptop. She logged in...and the creepy background was still there.

"It wasn't a dream?" Eris quietly said surprised.

Eris shut her laptop and went to grab something to eat. When she walked through her house, she noticed no one was home. 'Dad's probably are work...Mom most likely brought Nick to the card place...'

Eris grabbed a granola bar. As she was walking to her living room, her phone went off. It was Iridessa's ring tone.

'When your dreams all fail

and the one we hail

are the worst of all

and the bloods runs stale'

Eris answered, "Hello? Isn't it a bit early for you to be up Iridessa?"

"It is. But I had to do something this morning." Iridessa said.

"May I ask what?"

"Sure, I had to go to the store with my mom to grab some stuff."

"Oh." Eris saw a moving shadow. "Hold on, I think I just saw something."

"What did you see?"

"A shadow." Eris walked to were the shadow was. The shadow moved again and...her cat jumped in front of her. She laughed. The cat was completely black and had startling green eyes.

"What was it?" Iridessa asked.

"It was Shade." And they both laughed. "My cat is a ninja."

"Yes he is." Eris herd Iridessa's mom say something in the background."Uh, Eris, I have to go now. Bye."

Eris smiled, "Laterz."

Eris ended the call. She picked up Shade and pet his head. He started to purr. "Good cat." Eris said quietly.

Eris got back into her room and grabbed her laptop again. She put it in a laptop carrier, grabbed her headphones and her phone. After she plugged her headphones into her phone and began to play music, she swung her bag over her shoulder. She stepped out of her house and began to walk to the park. It was a Sunday morning so not many people were there.

Eris walked farther into the park. She walked into an area covered by trees. She noticed Shade had followed her. She smiled as the cat walked beside her like a dog.

'Weirdo.' She thought, 'Then again, I'm weird.'

Eris didn't notice that Shade's fur started to stand on end as she walked further into the shaded area. "Come on Shade." She said. "I don't want you to get lost." Eris bent down and picked up her cat and continued to walk.

She stopped at a park bench and set Shade down next to her. She pulled out her laptop and went to wattpad. She began to type the next chapter in her fan fiction.

Eris was so focused on her story she didn't pay attention to her surroundings. Someone sat on the other end of the bench, and Shade hissed. Eris didn't look up but, she pet Shade. She jumped when she heard a male voice say, "I don't think your cat likes me."

Eris shut her laptop and looked towards the voice. A young man , around 20, sat on the other end of the park bench. He wore a black hoodie, a blue shirt, and jeans. He also had brown hair. His head was turned and face the other was so Eris couldn't see his eyes.

"Then again," The man continued speaking, "Not a lot of people do."

"Well, my cat is not a person." Eris said quietly as she paused her music and took off her headphones. "He is my ninja pet."

The man looked towards her, his eyes were covered by sunglasses. "What do you mean ninja pet?"

"He will appear out of nowhere. He is like a shadow, which is why his name is Shade." Eris explained quickly. She didn't like speaking to people she didn't know, she is very shy.

The man seen the page she had pulled up on her laptop. "What was that?" He asked.

Eris said quickly, "T-that's my story I working on." She fumbled over a word.

"What is it about?" The man asked.

Eris gave the man a strange look, " I don't know you and you're asking me a lot of questions. And may I say, you are a very curious man."

The man laughed, "I am curious. And name is Nicholas Heron. But my few friends call me Hero or Nick."
