Austin dressed up and went shopping in a nearby shopping mall. Mary then used this advantage to go and visit her mother. She wore a simple cloth and left the house. She boarded a tricycle to her mother's place.
Mercy is watching television. She seems to be emotional. "But she did not do anything now. Don't kill her now." She said to herself crying.
Someone knocks at the door, Mercy wipes her tears immediately and goes to open the door. She gets to the door and finds out that it is Mary at the door.
"Mary my daughter are you here?" She asks.
"I'm outside mum. Inside a cab." She answers sarcastically. "Open the door mother."
"Alright my dear daughter, I'm going to open the door now." Mercy says as she turns the door knob and then Mary enters.
"Mum good afternoon." Mary says as she goes to sit down. Mercy closes the door and goes to sit beside Mary.
"So tell me, how are you my daughter? I hope you are now doing fine." Mercy says as she tries to get her eyes on the T. V.
"Not that fine anyway, which film is this?" Mary asks. As she also tries to watch the film.
"It is one Indian series named silver lining. What is happening is so painful. The smaller sister is at fault but they think it is the older sister. Now they want her to divorce her husbands." Mercy says still watching the television.
"Mum, you're not concentrating. This matter is more serious than you think. Listen to me mother, my presence irritates Austin. He does not even have time for me again. Mother this is not fair at all. I told you, Austin does not love me, he still loves that useless lady called Sandra." Mary says angrily. Mercy stares at her daughter pitiful.
"Are you serious? Didn't the charm work? I don't understand. Kirikaraji the great never fails. I know him very well, he is a well known herbalist... Allover Nigeria." Mercy says in great amazement. She looks at her daughter in shock.
"Mum, unfortunately Austin us a love expert. He is mother." Mary says with her voice a bit raspy.
"Seriously... How did you know Mary?" Mercy asked in disbelief.
"Mum, I'm serious mum." Mary packs her hair and throws it to her back. "Mum, we need a back up plan now. Austin is very stubborn, I know that for sure mother." Mary says with so much confidence.
"He definitely has a strange spirit. He has it in him." She says with little fear.
"Seriously mother. Is that all you got mum?" Mary asked now devastated. She leans on the chair. Mercy's hand now rests on Mary thighs.
"My dear daughter, I'll go back to the herbalist so he can give me a more powerful charm that can get Austin for life. And he'll yours forever." Mercy says confidently and distinctly.
"Thanks mother." Mary says as she adjusts herself. She seems happier than before. "So when will I come to get it?" She asks and Mercy gives her a smile in return.
"Tomorrow come and collect it. I'll go see him in the evening. Tomorrow come collect it unfailingly." Mercy says as she tries to connect to the T. V programme currently going on.
"Okay mum, I'll be leaving you now eh... Tomorrow is just a day afar. We shall get there."
"Thanks my daughter. I was watching this Indian film, now I've missed it." Mercy says as she now fixes her eyes to the television. Mary stands up to take her leave and Mercy escorts her out of the house.
