Jeremy's POV

Michael looked at his phone with mixed emotions but mostly I saw relief.

"Who is it?" I ask even though I already know.

"My mom." He says.

He hands me his phone and I read the text.

"Sounds good." I shrug handing it back.

I was still a little nervous though because the way I acted last time we met.

"So your fine with it?" He asks.

I nod. I look at him. I didn't say anything but I know he didn't get any sleep last night. I could see it in his face.

"You should go to sleep." I say.

"What?" He questions.

"You seem tired." I say.

"I'm fine." He mumbles, stirring his cereal around.

I scan his face and smile.

"What if I carry you?" I ask.

His face goes red.

"W-what?" He stutters.

"I can carry you to bed." I smirk.

"But I can walk just fine-" he begins but I cut him off.

"I want to carry you." I say.

"Uh I mean-.. if you want to.." he mumbles.

"Great!" I say smiling.

He smiles back sheepishly. I could tell he still wasn't used to the idea of us being 'a thing' and man it's fun to tease him.

So Michael took a nap and when he woke up his parents offered to pick us up to go camping. We pile into the back seats of the car, awkwardly staring out the window.

"So Jared-" Mr. Mell began but Michael budded in.

"It's Jeremy." He says bluntly.

"Uh right Jeremy... do you have a job?" He asks.

"Uh..no" I mutter.

There was more awkward silence.

"At least they are trying." Michael mumbles.

"How long have you been together?" Mrs. Mell asks.

Me and Michael exchange nervous looks as we did the math in our heads.

"Uh... a week?" Michael says unsure.

I noticed his Dad scowl a bit in the drivers seat.

"Oh that's nice dear." Mrs. Mell smiled.

"What about you two... I mean! Like how long have you been married!" I say, the last part pretty fast... I started to worry if she even understood it.

My face heats a bit.

"20 years." Mrs. Mell says.

I let out a sigh of relief.

"Uh mom." Michael says awkwardly.

"Yes?" His mom looked at him with a sweet smile.

"D-don't you two have work? I mean... I understand you are trying to help b-but you didn't have to-" Michael said talking fast but his mother stopped him.

"Work doesn't matter we need to get closer to our son... and.. his boyfriend." She says, her sweet voice faltering when she said 'boyfriend'
