It had been two months, yet Yoongi was still unable to complete the sentence he started on that drive home late that one night.  He was glad that the last thing you heard had been words of love, yet he felt traces of guilt that the one he loved was suffering because of him.  Partially. Someone driving under the influence had struck you two.  It truly was only the fault of the driver, but Yoongi might have been able to swerve a bit to at least lessen the impact, if he had paid more attention to the road in front of him.  Or, that is at least what he thought.  The crash was all he could think about for the past two months.  Likely, he would not be able to ever think of anything else until you returned to him.  However, there was no sign of that.

Instead, the only sign that you were alive was that the machines connected to you would make a constant low humming noise from being in operation.  Your open wounds had healed, for the most part.  At this point, the only thing that inhibited your recovery was the fact that you were in a coma.

"Y/n... I never wanted this to happen... Please, can you just get better?" Yoongi begged desperately.  He was hunched over on the side of your hospital bed in agony, yet again.  He reached in his pocket and pulled out a diamond ring.  It was modest, but the ring was never meant to impress you.  It was only supposed to be a way of expressing his love. "You know, y/n, I planned on giving this to you, the night of.  I was going to do it at home, since I thought you would feel too pressured if I asked you in front of others." He laughed dryly at his own statements.  If only he went ahead and asked you while he had the chance.

Sighing deeply, he dropped to the floor.  He caught himself with his hands, although he wished that he could just lay on the floor and never get up again.  Eventually, he shifted onto his knee and looked up at you.  He grabbed onto your almost lifeless hand, which was much skinnier at this point due to malnourishment.

"Y/n... I just want us to be forever..." he choked out while sliding the sparkling ring onto the ring finger of your left hand.  A light tapping on the room's door caused Yoongi to whirl around and see a doctor leaning in the doorway uncomfortably.

"Can I talk to you," the doctor began, "in private?"  The doctor awkwardly looked between you and Yoongi and beckoned Yoongi towards him.

"What is it?" Yoongi asked carefully as he stepped outside of the room you were comatose in.

"Well... It's y/n..."

"What about her?"

"Listen, she isn't getting any better.  You know that.  You've signed in to see her almost every day, I see it in the records."

"What are you getting at?"

"Mr. Min, I do not think that she will be getting any better.  Frankly, I do not think she will get any better.  I don't think she will wake up.  If she does, I'm sure she will be... impaired compared to her state before."

"I'm not sure what this is supposed to be hinting to..." Yoongi admitted.

"Listen, she doesn't have any other family members around here.  Nobody has visited her.  You're the one paying her bills.  What do you want to do?  I don't think she will return as she was before.  You have to make a choice."

"Are you suggesting that I just... pull the plug, on the love of my life?" Yoongi gasped while looking at the doctor.

"I want you to make the decision on your own, by no means am I mandating that you do so.  I am merely informing you on what I predict, as a doctor."

The hall fell silent, not that there was anybody else there to begin with.  However, now Yoongi could hear his heart beat louder than ever.

He retreated back to your hospital bed and looked back at your unmoving face.

"Listen, I really wanted us to be forever..." he cried, before motioning to the doctor to just pull the plug.  "I love you, y/n."
