Chapter 17
How cruel could destiny be? Of course, when it doesn't let you get along with your crush, when it doesn't give you what you want, something like that. But what's more cruel is that destiny wants the most awkward moment in your life to happen to you. So guess who I'm sitting with in the airplane right now?
"Its been a while." Alfred said. Yep, he's sitting on my left.
"Woah, the view is so nice!" Malakas na sabi naman ng katabi ko sa kanan, which is Zade by the way.
"First timer?" Alfred asked him.
Wait a minute, did Alfred just mocked Zade a little bit back there? Teka muna, parang a few months ago lang Alfred was still getting on Zade's good side, what the hell is wrong with him now?
"I was actually looking at my left." Sagot ni Zade then wore his earphones.
After a few seconds, narealize ko that what he meant by he was looking at his left was that he was actually looking at me. Napatingin agad ako sa kanya and I saw him smirk with his eyes closed. I can tell that he's pretty proud na para bang nagka-one point siya against Alfred.
So with our set-up, I wasn't comfortable. Hindi ko na-enjoy ang flight dahil sa masamang tinginan ng dalawa kong katabi. A few weeks ago, Alfred was inferior towards Zade, pero ngayon parang pantay na ulit sila. Maybe because Zade is not in charge of Zues' company anymore kaya wala nang rason si Alfred para 'matakot' sa kanya.
"I'll carry your bag." Zade offered.
"No thanks. Kaya ko na." At naglakad na ako palabas ng eroplano. I even heard Alfred laughing a little bit.
We rode a van for about 2 hours to get to the pier, then rode a pump boat for like 20 minutes to get to the beautiful island of Boracay. Our hotel was located right in front of the beach which is very convenient. The view was also nice and the weather was just right, hindi masyadong mainit and hindi rin masyadong malamig.
Dalawa kami sa isang kwarto and since my roommate arrived earlier than me, gumala daw muna sila kasama ang iba pang mga nauna. I don't know who's my roommate yet though. They let us rest first dahil ilang oras din ang byahe namin so I decided to just fix my stuff. I changed into a more comfortable outfit, a maxi skirt over my one piece. I grabbed my sunnies and slippers then went out to the balcony.
Every room's balcony was arranged like a staircase kaya naman nakikita mo kung may tao ba sa balcony sa floors sa baba ng room niyo. The organizers are really good at choosing hotels. Hindi ko nga maramdaman na nandito ako para sa trabaho.
"Hey!" Napatingin ako sa taas and there was Zade, looking down from his veranda.
"Uhm, hello?" I awkwardly replied.
"I'm sorry you had to go, sabi ko naman kay Zues kaya ko nang magisa eh." He said.
I was about to reply when he suddenly waved and left. Okay, why is Zade not letting me say anything? Nakakainis na ah. Hindi manlang siya naghintay ng sasabihin ko sa kanya. Ugh, whatever.
I went out to find myself a good restaurant and maybe shop some good stuff. I ate at a salad bar because I wouldn't want to be bloated while I'm here then grabbed a fruit slushy somewhere. Bumili na rin ako ng straw hat just in case it gets too hot later on. Madaming foreigner na gumagala-gala and they're all freakin handsome! Okay, not my priority.
I sat on the sand and watched the sun set. Maybe this vacation really is what I need right now. Let's just take advantage of this free vacation and relax. Matagal tagal na rin noong huli akong pumunta sa beach so I'll just forget everything while I'm here. Besides, wala naman sigurong makakasira ng mood ko dito, right?
