Chapter 5
After Zade left, Liam, Robin, and I continued our chat. Liam is this flashy guy. The way he acts and talks will definitely make you notice that he's a rich kid the moment you meet him. While Robin's more calm. He lets Liam do all the talking while he sits there, drinking his cup of tea.
"So you're the girl." Liam said while looking at me from head to toe. I sat at the couch in front of him and gave off a very confident aura.
"What?" I asked with a smirk.
"The girl who's been humiliating Zade these past few days. He's been on a bad mood because of you." Robin said.
I can't tell if he's just informing me or if he's blaming me for Zade's bad mood. But Robin is definitely trying to make me feel like I did something bad.
"Alam mo, I wouldn't do those things nang walang dahilan. I'm sure you know how arrogant your friend is."
I don't even know why I'm explaining, like, I shouldn't care kung ano yung image ko sa kanila, I'm not expecting to be friends with them, anyway.
"So he's matapobre, is that what people call it? Anyway, that's your reason?" Sabi naman ni Liam. I'm quite surprised to know that he can actually use the word matapobre. "You know, you can't really blame him, or us, for being what you call, 'matapobre.'"
And with that sumama agad ang tingin ko sa kanya. Did I just hear him say that? Grabe, birds with the same feather, flock together talaga. Kaya naman pala nagkakasundo 'tong mga 'to eh. They agree on one thing.
"What?" Mataray na tanong ko. "Are you saying that you have the right to act that way?"
"Wait a minute, I think you've misunderstood Liam's point. We just want you to realize that we have no choice but to act that way. We handle a lot of assets and others might take advantage of us. We have to be cautious." Robin explained.
Then it hit me. When you think about, what he said makes sense. If I were in their position, I would probably act the same, arrogant and unapproachable. Ngayon nga at wala akong masyadong maraming ari-arian ay may pagkamayabang at pihikan na ako. Paano ba kaya sila?
But still, when you're the one being called 'gold-digger', its not really that easy to take consideration of Robin's reasons.
I just sighed as a sign of defeat. Fine fine, they win. I'm not that closeminded para ipilit parin ang opinion ko sa kanila, okay.
"Well, Liam's bad at explaining." Sabi ko nalang and that made them chuckle a bit.
"By the way, I'm guessing that Zade's probably close to his limit. One more from you and he'll explode." Liam said, still trying to stop his laughter.
"Makes me want to plan something for him." I joked.
"But seriously, you're the first to annoy him that much. Usually he has a very long patience." Robin added.
Very cliche naman yung sinabi niya. And patient? Okay, maybe a bit. Pero the way Robin said it, para bang he's not usually like this, like what I see in him. Para bang ibang tao ang pinapakita ni Zade sa'kin.
"Maybe you stepped so much on his pride and ego that's why he's in rage whenever you're near. That's probably his defense mechanism ." Pagtutuloy ni Liam.
Sounds like Zade's scared of me. When you think about it, ever since I met him, parati na siyang galit sa harap ko. What Liam said might be true. Because I crushed his ego a few times before, defense mechanism na niya ang pagiging masungit agad sa harap ko. That's his way of protecting himself, from me, from the embarrassment. Parang I'm feeling a little bit proud tuloy.
