Chapter 23

"We might know the reason behind Zade's actions."

Robin started habang si Liam naman ay tumatango-tango lang. Hindi na ako nagtaka pa na alam nila ang mga tungkol dun dahil magkaibigan sila, malamang sa malamang, kilalang kilala na nila ang isa't isa.

"So who is Gale?" Natalia asked.

"Gale is just an average girl chasing for her dreams." Hearing Liam say that, para bang isang simpleng babae lang si Gale, but I've seen her, she's nowhere near being an ordinary girl. "It just so happens na pareho sila ng pangarap ni Zade. They achieved it together in France. Bestfriends, yun siguro sila."

Bestfriends. Damn, I've watched that kind of story a couple of times already. And that 'bestfriend' always ends up as the antagonist. If I will be a part of this kind of drama, consider me out.

"To be honest, they were so close we thought sila na talaga. But we too, were shocked  when Zade confessed to you. Who would've thought." Robin explained.

"So bestfriends, pero nagsstay sa isang kwarto nang magkasama? Wow." Sandra reacted while rolling her eyes, typical Sandra.

"Like we've told you, those two are so comfortable with each other. Others might see them as a couple, but maybe they just treat each other as siblings."

I know, Robin. Yun naman ang pinopoint out niyong dalawa ni Liam sa'kin eh. Obviously, the three of you have this relationship with Gale and ayaw niyong sumama ang tingin ko sa kanya. Fine, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. I'll have to meet her first before I follow this female instinct of mine.

"But honestly, the Zade you're seeing right now is very different from the Zade that we, together with Gale, know." Liam added.

"And maybe just maybe, by seeing Gale, Zade realized the change in him. Maybe he was seeing his old self with Gale. Maybe he was missing it."

Liam's explanation made sense. Zade really changed so much from the very first time I met him. It made me think, Gale was able to put up with the Zade that I hated. The Zade that was so full of himself, she accepted him while I tried everything to change him. I made him do things that he wasn't used to.

"If Gale actually went back here in the Philippines, dalawa lang yan. Its either she comes back to France alone, or she leaves with Zade."

Natahimik ako sa sinabi ni Liam. That was it. Why didn't I realize it sooner? They had the same dream. I remembered the two of us talking about going abroad. He mentioned na nagbabakasyon lang talaga siya dito sa Pilipinas at sa abroad talaga siya nagsstay. He even indirectly asked me to go with him, pero syempre hindi ako pumayag. And we all know Zade, he is very goal-oriented. He wouldn't risk that dream of his.

Its very different when it affects someone's dreams. Obviously, Zade's dream is with Gale, there in France. I wasn't the person he was with when he achieved those dreams, and that is exactly the reason why I am in no position to compare myself with Gale. She was with the real Zade, the Zade that I couldn't accept.

"Sorry." Tanging nasabi ni Sandra.

She dropped me off in front of my condominium dahil wala nga akong dalang kotse, naiwan sa opisina.

"Sorry for what?"

"For dragging you earlier. I was just so curious with what's happening." She explained.

I had no energy to express any emotions kaya naman ngumiti nalang ako sa kanya. "Don't worry about it."

Then I walked inside. I heard her sigh, probably still guilty. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have known what Zade and Gale's relationship really is. Right after entering my room, humiga agad ako. I was drained emotionally and physically. I'll probably take a leave tomorrow at work.
