Suddenly, Indy punched a Russian in the face, took his whip, and wrapped it around one of the Russians' guns. He pulled the whip, and the gun flew into Mac's hands. He quickly picked up the gun from the Russian he punched, and aimed it at Dr. Spalko.
"Drop the guns," Indy yelled. "Or Colonel Dr. Spalko is dead."
Slowly, they lowered their guns, but raised them again.
Indy was confused, until he heard a click beside him.
"Why, Mac?" Indy asked him, feeling betrayed.
"What can I say, Jonesey?" Mac answered, pointing his gun at Indy. "I'm a capitalist, and they pay."
Indy shook his head, not believing.
"After all those years we spent spying on the Reds?" Indy said, then he turned to Mac. "I thought we were friends."
"I've had a run of bad luck with the cards lately," Mac moved to stand with the Russians. "Really awful, I can't go home empty-handed again."
"No defiant last words, Dr. Jones?" Dr. Spalko asked him.
"I like Ike," Indy replied.
"Put down gun."
Indy looked at him.
"You got it, pal," Indy said, dropping the gun.
Once the gun hit the floor, it fired. The bullet hit one of the mens' feet, and while they were distracted, Indy took that as his chance to run. Dr. Spalko ordered them to get Indy. Indy hurriedly ran down an aisle and climbed up the boxes. Once at the top, he started to run, dodging the bullets coming his way.
As Dr. Spalko was driving away with the box, Indy used his whip, the end tying to one of the ceiling lights, and jumped off the boxes. Swinging to Dr. Spalko's Jeep, but swinging backwards and into the front seat of a truck. He quickly disposed of the Russians in the front seat and drove faster.
Once he was close enough, Indy jumped out of the truck, and into the back of the Jeep. He pushed Dr. Spalko out, and continued to drive away.
"He's not to get out of here alive," Dr. Spalko ordered. "Block the exits."
Indy was driving down an aisle, with a truck behind him. He saw that there was one in front of him, and he got an idea. Mac was telling the driver to not get clever, because he knows Indy and what he can do. As the vehicles got closer, Indy stood up, seeing a low hanging ceiling light. Once he grabbed it, he swung to the rafters above him. The three vehicles crashing into each other.
As soon as he got to his feet, he started to run as fast as he could. He didn't stop as the Russians continued to shoot at him. Once he got to the end, he grabbed a chain on a pulley and slid down. After touching the ground, the Russian Colonel tackled him through a pair of doors, and landed on a ceiling window. The glass got weak and broke, causing the two men to fall. Indy got to his feet faster, and pushed the Colonel through a window, causing him to land on a control console.
Unknowingly starting a timer.
The Russian chased Indy, trying to hit him with a chain. The chain wrapped around Indy's ankle, causing him to fall. Unable to get away. The Russian tied a chain around Indy's neck, pulling him up a foot in the air. The two men were still unaware of the timer. Indy finally kicked the Russian away, removing the chain from around his neck.
The timer went off.
The rocket like thing launched, and sped down the track. Out into the desert.
The Russians loaded the box into another car, and Dr. Spalko drove off.
The rocket went through a pond and slowed down.
Once it stopped, Indy pushed the Russian off, and grabbed his hat, falling to the ground. Soon, Indy could stand straight, and saw that the Russians were coming his way. He quickly hid behind a small dune, watching as they drove away.
In the morning, Indy was walking, and found a town. He hid behind a fence when a car drove by. He knocked on the back door of the house then went inside. Shouting to see if anyone was home. He tried to get some water from the faucet but none came out. Hearing a t.v., Indy walked into the living room, seeing a family sitting on the couch.
He walked over to them, telling them that he knocked, but he stopped.
No one answered because there was no one in the house. Only manikins.
Indy had an idea of where he was, so he walked outside. Hoping that he was wrong.
Outside he saw a manikin of a milkman, a newspaper boy on a bike, and a girl pulling a red wagon. He touched the manikin girl's head, and Indy stumbled back when it tipped over. As he stumbled, he heard a sound.
A sound that didn't sound good.
"That can't be good," Indy muttered under his breath.
Then a voice began to speak out of nowhere.
"All personnel, it is now one minute to zero time. Put on goggles or turn away. Do not remove goggles or face burst until 10 seconds after first light."
Now realizing where he was, he yelled out to the Russians that were getting back in the car, but they didn't stop.
"Minus 15 seconds."
Indy ran back into the house, looking for a place to hide when the Nuc goes off.
"Minus 10 seconds."
As the voice began to count down, Indy was in the kitchen, still looking for a place to hide. He quickly opened the refrigerator and started to empty it out. He quickly cleared the pathway of the door to close it, right as the timer reached zero.
Everything outside started to burn, then....
BOOOOOOOM!
The bomb went off. The blast of the explosion caused the refrigerator to fly out of the town. After it landed, and stopped rolling, Indy got out, gasping for air. He walked up a small mound and looked at the mushroom cloud in the sky.
Happy to be alive.
