As they traveled down the river, Oxley spoke.

"Three times it drops," he said.

Looking ahead, the saw a waterfall coming closer. Marion tried to turn them around, to keep them from going off the drop, but nothing was working. They fell out of the car as they went over. As they climbed back in, Jack was having some trouble. She never swam before. As she struggled, Mutt helped her.

"The way down," Ox spoke again, pointing to his right.

"He means by land," Jack said, looking to their right.

"Three times it drops?" Indy asked.

"Three times it drops," Ox confirmed.

"What is he talking about?" Mutt asked.

Pointing behind him, Indy explained what Ox means.

"One," Indy said, before pointing ahead. "Two."

Looking ahead, the see another waterfall. This one taller than the last. After they swam to the surface, the climbed back into the car. Looking ahead, they saw another waterfall. This one being taller than the other two.

"Three," Jack said aloud.

As they came closer, Jack grabbed her brother's arm, and Mutt grabbed the door. Marion grabbed the wheel, Oxley clung tightly to the bag, and Indy grabbed his hat, not wanting to lose it. They fell out once more.

Surfacing, they walked to a small island in the middle of the river. Once on land, they sat down and tried to catch their breath.

"You okay?" Mutt asked his twin.

She nodded.

"'Through eyes that last I saw in tears,'" Ox said, staring at something in the distance.

Mutt looked in the same direction.

"'The golden vision reappears,'" Mutt finished.

They looked up, and saw what looks to be a skull in the cliff face.

"Through eyes..." Mutt trailed off, pointing at the skull in the cliff face.

"We have to go through that waterfall," Jack replied, a bit relieved.

Indy walked to Ox, and gently took the skull.

"I'll return the skull," he said. "Nobody else has to come."

"It's brought us nothing but trouble, so who cares?" Mutt looked at him. "Look what it did to him."

Indy looked at his old friend and saw his face.

"I have to return it," Indy turned away.

"Why you?" Jack asked.

"Because it told me to," Indy replied.

Knowing their destination was near, they swam across the river, and climbed up the cliff face. They entered the eye that didn't have water coming out. They walked through the cave, Mac shining his flashlight ahead of them. They came to a wall with pictures on it. As Indy investigated it, Ox tried to walk forward.

"How old is it?" Jack asked, looking at the wall.

"Four, maybe five thousand years old," Indy replied.

Mutt noticed a torched on the wall, and went over to it. Touching the end that's scorched, he told the others it was fresh.

"They've been used recently," he said.

Lighting the torch, they continued. As they walked through, it seemed as through they were in a temple. They saw more pictures of an ancient civilization worshiping different things.

"Someone taught the Ugha farming," Indy said, pointing at another picture. "Irrigation."

"Guys?" Jack called to the others.

They turned to her, and found that she was looking through an arch, and at another wall. They went into the room, and saw that Ox had taken the skull out of the bag.

"What is it, Ox?" Jack asked, gently placing her hand on his shoulder.

She gently touched him, afraid that she would scare him. She imagined him being like glass, and was afraid she would make him shatter to pieces. The picture was of a being with an elongated head.

"I think I understand," Indy said quietly, standing in front of his friend.

Ox looked at him, as if questioning what it is he understands.

"Someone came?" Indy spoke.

They looked at the picture, and Ox began to lift the skull into the light of the torch. He raised it up, to where the shadow of the skull would match the picture.

"There were more," Indy said, looking at the other pictures in the room.

They turned around and saw thirteen in a circle, in one picture. Ox came to a stop in front of a passage.

"Show us the way," Indy told him.

They followed Ox, and came to a door. Indy and Mutt tried to open it, but the door didn't budge.

"How do we open this?" Mutt asked.

Ox walked over to the wall, and touched an engraving in the wall. Noticing this, Indy walked over to inspect it. The indentation looked familiar.

"Cross," Ox spoke.

Indy stared at his friend, confused. Then realized what he meant.

"Incan cross," Indy said.

Ox nodded.

Indy looked at Jack. She thought back to the market, and the little girl. She unclasped the necklace, and turned to Ox.

"Is this it?" Jack asked him.

"Cross," Ox said again.

Jack took it as a 'yes' and handed the cross to Indy, who placed it in the indentation. They all heard a click, and the door opened. They pushed forward, walking a little faster. As they left a chamber, they didn't know they were being watched. Strange men in strange clothing, came out of the walls and ceiling, and followed the group.

They had slingshots, armed with small rocks, and swung them in a circle. Hearing the noise they made, the group stopped and looked behind them. As the strange men slowly emerged from the shadows, they ran. They came to a cave entrance and ran as fast as they could down the steps.

Coming outside, they noticed they were in a valley, with only two temples. They were running out of the temple that was built inside of the mountain and the other was in the middle of the valley. As they ran, hundreds of indigenous people poured out of the temple, throwing rocks at the group.

Once they made it to the ground, they were being surrounded by the tribe. The tribe threw vines, weighed down by a rock on both ends, and threw them at the groups' ankles, tripping them.

"Indy!" Marion yelled.

"Jonesey!" Mac shouted.

"Dr. Jones!" Jack yelled.

"Oxley!" Indy shouted, crawling to his friend. "You were here before, how did you get past them?"

Oxley revealed the skull, and stood up. The indigenous people cowered away. As Ox stepped towards them, they backed away. Indy led his friend around, saving their companions.

"'To lay their just hands on that Golden Key,'" Ox quoted, holding the skull above his head. "'That ope's the Palace of Eternity.'"

With the tribe moving away from them, the group was able to go to the main temple in the center of the valley.
