"Still waiting for the return of the one who was lost," she spoke, looking at the crystal skeletons. "They are a hive mind. All being physically separate, but share a collective consciousness."

She walked around the room, before turning to the Jones family and Ox.

"More powerful together than they could ever be apart," she said, taking the skull from Oxley.

He held it tight to his chest, but let go when Spalko gave him a deadly glare.

"Just imagine what they could tell," she finished, walking to the headless skeleton.

"I can't," Indy replied, as they watched, helplessly, as she walked up the stone steps. "Neither could the humans who built this temple, neither can you."

"Belief is a gift you have yet to receive," Spalko told him, not stopping.

The five of them backed away. Marion gently pulling Ox back, and Mutt keeping Jack behind him.

"I believe," Indy said. "That's why I'm down here."

Spalko reaches out, holding out the skull. Just a foot away from the skeleton, the skull shot out of her hands, and reconnected with the skeleton. She backed away, watching as the skeleton realigned itself. Ox stood in front of the skeleton, and began to speak a different language.

"He's speaking Mayan," Indy pointed, as he and Spalko looked at him.

"What is he saying?" Spalko asked.

"He says, he's grateful," Indy translated for all of them. "And he wants..."

Indy stopped.

"It." He corrected.

Indy looked at the skeleton.

"It wants to give us a gift," Indy finished. "A big gift."

Spalko turned to the skeleton.

"Tell me everything you know," she told it. "I want to know everything."

The skull turned to its right, and stared down at Spalko. Staring into its eyes, Spalko began to learn everything. Tendrils of smoke came from the eyes of every skeleton in the room. The temple began to shake. Pieces of stone began to fall as the temple started to shake violently. The level where the skeletons sat, began to move in a circle. It seemed as if the whole room was moving in a circle.

"What are they?" The twins asked in unison.

"Interdimensional beings," Ox answered.

There was a hole in the ceiling, and they could see what looked like the obelisk outside, but made of metal. The four pillars were flat.

"A portal," Ox said, returning to his old self. "A pathway to another dimension."

It opened, and light shined through.

"We don't want to go that way," Indy replied.

When the door had opened back up, Indy pushed Oxley and Marion through, before it closed. Pieces of the stone floor began to float up to the ceiling and go through the portal. When the door opened up again, Mutt, holding on to his sister, and Indy jumped through the door. Spalko was the last one standing in the room, telling the beings she wants to know everything.

Outside the room, Ox and the Jones family, climbed up the steps. Indy stopped, and looked behind him, finding Mac walking around, taking as much gold as he can. The other four stopped, and looked behind them. When Mac made his way to the stairs, the temple shook once more, causing Mac to fall down.

Using his whip, Indy tossed the other end to Mac, for everything was being sucked into the portal.

"Use you legs, Mac," Indy told him. "I can't do it alone."

As the room fell apart, Mac called up to his friend.

"I'm going to be all right," he said.

The force of the portal made Mac float. He let go of the whip, and was sucked into the portal. The group ran up the stairs and came to a new room. Water was falling from the ceiling and was starting to flood the room. Giant gear-looking stones, were moving and would block their way out.

They came to a small chamber. Their only way out, was through the hole above them, but it was at least 15 feet high. Soon, the room started to get flooded by water. Jack held onto her brother, afraid she might drown. As the room continued to fill with water, they were raised up, being lifted towards the hole.
