Carefully packing the skull, the three left the chamber. As they walked up the final set of stairs, Indy paused for a moment. The twins stopped when they saw eleven men, in soldier uniforms, pointing guns at them.

Two more men walked up to three of them. One in uniform, the other in casual attire.

"Hello, Jonesey," the man in casual attire said.

"Hello, Mac," Jones replied in a dead tone.

Mutt was about to take a step forward, but Mac pointed his gun at him, pulling back the hammer. Hearing the gun click, Jack grabbed her brother's arm, scared for their lives.

Held at gun point, the three were loaded into a small Soviet plane, and flew to Iquitos. There, they got on a small steam ship, and traveled down the Amazon river to Ilha Aramacá.

They reached a small camp after night fall. The twins we put in a tent, being guarded by two soldiers, while Indy was taken to the large tent. He was strapped into a chair.

Mac came in, saying that Indy was lucky that he showed up. Indy then asked Mac how many people had died because Mac saved his own skin by giving the Russians names.

"They're gonna let me of this chair eventually, comrade," Indy said, looking at the restraints around his wrists, before turning to Mac. "And when they do, I'm going to break your nose."

"'Comrade?'" Mac repeated in confusion. "You think this is about flags? About uniforms? About lines on a map?"

"It's about money, ain't it?" Indy retorted.

"Not only money," Mac told him, coming a bit closer to Indy. "A gigantic pile of money. Don't worry about what the Russians will pay, it's nothing compared to what's at Akator."

Indy turned his head, but Mac went to his left side, continuing to talk about the gold.

"Blood money," Indy told him when he was finished. "Every nickel."

Before Mac could continue, Dr. Spalko walked in.

"How fortunate our failure to kill you, Dr. Jones," she spoke. "You survive to be of service to us once again."

"You know me," Indy started, sarcastically. "Always happy to help."

"'Now I am become death, destroyer of worlds,'" she quoted, walking over to a small machine, and turning it on. "You recognize those words?"

He nodded.

"It was Dr. Oppenheimer after he created the atomic bomb," she continued.

"He was quoting the Hindu bible," he replied.

"It was nuclear intimidation," she said, walking around the chair he was strapped to. "Now this next level of weapon is ours to have, yours to fear."

Confused, Indy asked her what she means.

"A mind weapon," she elaborated. "A new frontier of psychic warfare, it was Stalin's dream."

Indy laughed, thinking it was ridiculous.

"I now know why Oxley put the skull back where he found it," he spoke. "He knew you were looking for it."

"That skull is no mere deity carving," she told. "Surely you knew that the moment you laid eyes on it, it was not made by human hands."

"Then who made it?" Indy asked, trying to get as much information out of her as he can.

She smiled.

"Come on," he said, knowing what she meant.

She turned her head to an area that had a light see-through curtain, looking at what laid behind it.
