"So you really need to leave and go to Idris?" Clary asked. From the look on her face, Jace could tell she didn't want him to leave at all.
"Yeah," he replied. "I think I don't have a choice right now."
"You always have a choice," Clary mumbled, but loud enough for him to hear it.
"Well, at the moment I don't think that I have one," Jace answered mumbling. Clary looked op to him irritated, as he had imitated her, and she hated it when he did so.
"Okay then," Clary sighed before walked away. Jace stared at her as she left the room. He sighed. He didn't wan to leave Clary either, especially with Shawn. She would get exhausted, he knew what it was like. The same thing had happened with Imogen. Clary was up all night and she stayed awake all day. He couldn't imagine her being more tired, but then Shawn came and the impossible became true. He decided to go and talk to Sophie, as she always knew exactly how to advise him, and help him.
As soon as he found her, Sophe said: "I will look after her." Jace nodded slowly. It kept on surprising him how Sophie knew what he wanted to say. She was a observer, she was silent and careful. However, he knew she wouldn't be able to stop Clary from taking care of Shawn and Imogen: Clary would do that anyway.
Sighing Jace went to pack his stuff. He didn't take much: only his weapons for emergency and some clothes. He wanted to say bye to Clary but he couldn't find her. She had locked herself in her room since she heard that he had to go to Idris. There was something wrong with the Angels turning into Demons, which was strange. There was akind of disturbance. He sighed and stepped into the portal that Clary had created earlier that day.
Imogen and Sophie watched him leave. Sophie picked up Imogen and said: "Lets go and find your mum."
They found Clary a little later moping around in her bedroom. Her first words were: "Is he gone?" Sophie didn't know if her answer would relieve her or make her cry.
"He's gone."
