The Light of Heaven

Chapter 10

Sophie was having her hands full with Shawn and nearly shouted at Imogen for asking the time. 

"Sorry, sweetheart", Sophie said. "Shawn is giving me a rough time"

" Can I help you?" Imogen asked sweetly.

"Sure", Sophie replied with a tired smile.

Together they calmed Shawn down and managed to entertain him for an hour. Imogen recited the alphabet and Shawn was totally memorized by Imogen's voice. He would stare for minutes at her lips forming the letters and pout when she finished. He looked so adorable. Sophie got carried away by them that she forgot to wash the dishes. She told Imogen to count to 10, 10 times. Imogen pouted and said, "Do I really have to do that?,

Sophie felt sorry for her but she has to keep Shawn and Imogen busy. Imogen started counting and Sophie rushed to the kitchen. There she found Tori drying the last of the dishes.

"Hi," Tori said.

"You didn't have to do that"

"I figured that you were busy with the kids and thought that i could help"

"Thanks, shall we switch now?

Tori laughed at her hopeful face and said sure. She left the housework to Sophie and went to entertain the children. She didn't have much to do. They walked around the garden for awhile and Tori named all the plants. After an hour Shawn fell asleep in Tori's arms and Imogen was yawning so Tori decided to put them to bed.

 Of course Imogen complained saying that she wasn't tired at all, but Tori knew better. The moment that Imogen had gotten in bed she closed her eyes and fell asleep. Tori smiled at the peaceful, cute little face and put Shawn in bed. Carrying him around all day had been tiring. 

Tori went downstairs and saw that Sophie was making tea. They sat comfortably in the kitchen drinking tea and talking about likes and dislikes. After thirty minutes the phone started ringing and a panicked voice said:

"Sophie!Sophie! You have to help me!", Clary started sobbing.

"What's wrong?Are you okay?"

"It's not me, it's Jace"
