"Bonjour mis amigos!" A man said, walking into the classroom. Everybody laughed as he walked into the room. Lafayette smiled at him and giggled a little. Of course, she sat in the back of the room with Dallas. "Y'all ready for my class?" The man asked.
Lafayette automatically knew it was the science teacher after that. "As you may know, I am Mr. Hills and I will be y'alls science teacher for this year!" He said cheerfully. "From what I know, we have only four girls in this period?" Mr. Hills asked. "Where my girls at!" He yelled, making everybody laugh. Dallas and two other girls raised their hands. Soon Lafayette yet raised her hand. "Great! Now boys! Do not bother the girls!" Mr. Hills demanded.
"Lemme see..." Mr. Hills thought out loud. Mr. Hills was asking students questions and Lafayette hoped he didn't pick her. "You! With the girl with crazy green eyes!" Mr. Hills demanding, walking to Lafayette. "What is your favorite place?" Her asked Lafayette.
'Crap! Crap! Crap!" Lafayette thought. "Home," Lafayette told Mr. Hills quickly. "Is that a truth or a lie?" He interrogated, slamming his hands on her desk. "Tr-truth!" Lafayette flinched, her eyes wide. "Most kids your age want to get out more! I guess I am wrong." Mr. Hills smiled as he straightened himself.
"What about home? What is there that isn't here at School?" Mr. Hills asked. "Uh, m-my dad and my f-family." Lafayette stuttered out. "What's so important about family?" Mr. Hills asked. "Why is it important to you, green eyes?" He said walking to his desk. "Because I love them." Lafayette sunk in her chair. "Why?" A girl said from across the room.
Lafayette looked at the girl. Hazel eyes and blonde hair, the girls' skin was tan. "Because...because they are always there for me when I need them," Lafayette answered. "Way to ask your fellow classmates questions, Clara!" Mr. Hills said. "Now sense family has gotten in the conversation, let's talk about genetics!" Mr. Hills cheered. Lafayette sunk in her seat even more.
"Clara, what trait do you share with your mom?" He asked. "I have hazel eyes, just like her!" Clara said proudly. "Now, ask one of your classmates a question about anything that involves family...like eyes!" Mr. Hills told her. "Ok, um...Paul! Who has the same eye color as you?" Clara asked the boy sitting next to her.
Lafayette listened to questions that the kids in her class asked and the answers. She didn't get one question and she is happy about that. "Ok guys! We have an assembly today!" Mr. Hills told the class. The class groaned and some moved in there seats. "C'mon my dudes! It'll be fine! Now go to the gym!" Mr. Hills demanded. Everybody got out of their sits and went out of the classroom, Lafayette trailed behind. "Green eyes, can you stay for a minute?" Mr. Hills asked and Lafayette nodded.
"Did I do anything wrong? I'll do better!" Lafayette freaked. "No, no, no! You're fine, I just want to know your name!" Mr. Hills smiled. "M-my name is L-Lafayette." Lafayette stuttered out. "I love it! Now go catch up with your classmates!" Mr. Hills said. Lafayette walked out her room, her arms folded over her books. "389. 389. 389." Lafayette muttered her locker number repeatedly. She looked at the lockers, trying to remember where it was when she set it up a week ago with her mom.
