"Shane Williamson" We both looked up to see a nurse smiling at us. "Dr. Jacob is ready to see you." She said. We got up and followed her to an office. "He'll be right with you." She said as we sat on the couch in front of a desk.

"I hoped that I would never be in this position again." He whispered as soon as she closed the door behind her

I looked at him as I grabbed his hand and entwined our fingers. "I'm here, I promise." I said. He looked at me and smiled.

"I love you, Amelia" He whispered

"I love you, too Shane." I kissed him on the lips for a couple seconds then pulled away when we heard the door open.

"Hello, Shane." He said then saw me. "Hi, who's this?" He asked holding out his hand for me to shake.

"I'm Amelia, his girlfriend" I said shaking his hand.

"Oh, nice to meet you." He said before bringing his chair in front of us sitting down. "So, I understand that you've been through this before, so you're pretty familiar with this?" He said turning his attention back to Shane. Shane nodded. "Okay, since this type of cancer spreads faster it's harder to help it. You were very, very lucky to get rid of it twice, but the reason it's so major there's a very low chance we could help it a third time." He explained. Shane stayed silent as he nodded. "The chemotherapy is one of the ones recommended, but it's really up to you. I'm going to grab something for you while you think about if you want to do the chemotherapy." he said before he stood up and left the room closing the door behind him.

I turned to him. "What're you going to do?"

He shrugged. "I don't know. If I did this again and it does work, but then comes back again, what do I do then, try again and hope for the best."

"Well, it's up to you." I said

"There's other treatments" he said "But, I've never tried them before"

"Well, when he comes back he can explain them." I said. Just then he came back with some papers.

"Okay, so there's other treatments you can do. There's targeted treatment, radiation therapy, and obviously chemotherapy. The targeted therapy uses drugs and other substances to more accurately identify and attack cancer cells, but it also usually will do a little damage to your normal cells. Radiation therapy will stop the cells from doing their cycle more than they should. And then you know the chemotherapy." He paused, both of us looking at Shane. "What're you thinking?" He asked. I gently squeezed his hand.

"Which therapy gives me a better chance of surviving this?" Shane asked

Dr. Jacobs sighed. "Unfortunately I can't tell you that. It's all up to your cells and your body." Shane nodded.

"Can I have a couple minutes with Amelia, please?" He asked. Dr. Jacobs nodded as he stood up and left the room again.

I turned to him. "What are you thinking?" I asked

"I'm thinking that these things are expensive and what's the point of using them if they're not even going to work." He said then looking at me.

"Trying" I said unsure.

"And what if it doesn't work this time?" He asked

"I don't know" I said "Well, it's your choice. Either do it, or not."

He sighed staying silent as he thought. He looked up and me and told me his answer.

About ten minutes later the doctor came back in and sat down.

"So, what do you wan to do?" He asked

Shane sighed. "I don't want to do the therapy."
