Chapter Two (Edited)

"Kids dinner is ready!" I heard Daddy yell from the back door.

I turned to Shane. "Are you staying for dinner, or?" I asked

"I don't want to intrude." He said

"No, it's okay, you can stay if you want." I said as we stood up.

"Well then thanks." He said.

We walked inside the kitchen to see Dad placing drinks around the made table.

"Hey, Dad" I said as I went and gave him a hug.

"Hey, kiddo" He said hugging me back. When we pulled away he noticed Shane. "Who's this?" He asked. You see dad is more of a dad then daddy is. Dad acts like what a dad does when his daughter is with a boy, but daddy acts more like what a mother acts when her daughter is with a boy.

"Dad, this is Shane, my English partner." Then I turned to Daddy. "Can he stay for dinner?"

"Sure"

"Thanks." I turned to Shane "What would you like to drink?"

"Water's fine" He said

I grabbed two glasses and poured water in them. I placed them beside each other on the table then sat down in front of one.

"Sit next to me." I said patting the seat beside me. He gave me a smile as he took the seat.

Once everyone was seated we began to eat lasagna made by Daddy. Daddy's more of the cooker in their relationship.

"So, Shane, how long have you lived in San Francisco?" Dad asked. I could tell he was making sure he was good material to be around.

"Actually, my mom, siblings and I just moved here a couple days ago." He said

"Where are you from?" He asked

"New York"

"Really? That's where Amelia is from." Daddy jumped in.

"Yeah, so how long have you two been in San Francisco?" Shane asked.

"Well, I've lived here my whole life, but Sam moved here when he was fifteen." Dad said

"Not trying to be nosey or anything, but how did you guys meet?" Shane asked

"Oh my god, I love this story." I said with a huge smile on my face.

"I want to tell it." Daddy said

"Fine"

"Well, when I moved here it was all completely new to me. I moved from England when my parents' job was moved over here. A week after we moved here I had my first day of school here, and that was nerve wracking. The second I walked into school I ran right into someone and accidentally spilled there coffee on them-" Daddy started but was interrupted by Dad.

"I got it all over my new shirt. I was literally going to scream at him, but as soon as I saw his face I was hooked." Dad smiled at Daddy.

"I thought he was going to pummel me to the ground with the size of him, but he didn't. Instead he became my first friend at school. Months went by and honestly I had fallen in love, but since he 'claimed' he was straight" Daddy put air quotes at 'claimed'. "I thought I didn't have a chance with him, so I tried dating someone else. There was this guy named Tom who asked me out so I said yes. And he asked me out right in front of Josh." Daddy chuckled then Dad continued from his ending

"I was at first confused because all my life I had dated girls, but I didn't feel anything towards them, so when I came to terms with me being gay and having feelings for Sam I knew there was no going back. Then when Tom asked him out right in front of me I got really mad. It was even worse when he said yes. When I came out to my mom that night she told me she was there for me, an told me to go after Sam. So I went to the place they were having their date and told him I was in love with him." Dad finished smiling at Daddy

"And we've been together ever since." Dad finished.

"I love that story so much" I said "I hope that one day I find someone that loves me as much as you guys love each other. Someone who thinks I'm special and one of a kind." I sighed

"Whoever doesn't think your a special one of a kind girl is clearly stupid." Shane said

I looked at him "Thanks"

"Don't need to thank me for telling the truth." He said

I felt heat run up my neck and stop at my cheeks so I turned away and looked at my plate.

Why was I blushing. I DONT BLUSH! Then why am I blushing at a stupid comment made by a guy I met less than 12 hours ago.

"Haha Lia's blushing" I heard Katy laugh

"Shut up" I whispered.

The rest of dinner the dads talked to Shane about his family, but I noticed he never mentioned anything about his father. I'll have to ask him about that later.

When dinner was over I walked Shane to the door after he said bye to everyone.

"Thanks for dinner" He said

"You're welcome, I can tell they like you, which means you're welcome here anytime." We laughed

"Well, I got to go." He said then turned around through the opened door. He paused for a second and turned towards me again looking like he was going to say something. "Do you want to go to the park tomorrow with me. Every Saturday I would take my brother and sister to the park and then get some ice cream. I know they're a little old, but they like it. Do you want to come with us?" He asked

"I don't want to interrupt your sibling day." I said

"No, it's okay I want you to come."

"Then yes. I'd love to come. Do I have to bring anything?" I asked

"Just yourself" He said

"Okay"

"Cool, I'll come by at around noon with them and then go. I'll see you tomorrow." He looked hesitant but then just waved and walked off.

I closed the door and leaned backwards on it. Is it possible to have a crush on someone after such a little time. 'Cause that's what's happening to me.
