Her hand retracted from the door knob quickly. The temperature dropped so fast it was hard for her to register. Barely seconds after she realized the door was locked , she could see her breath and her teeth chattering. She looked around in a panic , the window and mirror frosted over. Rushing around the room she noticed a terrifying feature.
She faced the mirror and saw slowly, the frost melted away into a distinct pattern covering the surface. "Why why why why why why" the word was littered all over the mirror, the grew to the walls and the windows. The word was absorbing the room like a virus the cold consuming her.
She stumbled. Back tripping over a book, panicking she grabbed the red covered book and threw it at the window shattering it. The cold she ran, her limbs tingling with warmth and jumped out the window the shards still attached to the frame scratching against her arms and shoulders as she fell to the ground bellow to escape the cold.
Her eyes opened, she saw white... she was no longer on the ground, she was surrounded by a unfamiliar scene. As her hearing returned she made out a notable and telling noise. The soft beeping of a heart monitor. Snapping awake she looked around, her leg was propped up and wrapped in a thick cast, pain surging through her body.
Tears threatening her eyes she laid back down rolling her head to the side. She saw a small table lined with cards , flowers , food, and the red book , the watch, and the red box. Just seeing the items that had been collected on her journey was enough to make her blood run cold.
As she lied their in her hospital room she reran the events in her head trying to make sense of what happened, how it could have happened. No answer came afloat no matter how long she recounted the distant memory.
She was snapped out of her thought by her room door slamming open. "Seiko!!" She was met with the sight of her worried teacher and friend Mayu. They ran over Mayu wrapping her arms around Seikos frail and casted figure, Mrs Yui stumbling on her words brows furrowed in worry.
Their words made no sense , they just mended together as they both spoke at the same time. Even if she didn't know what was being said , their concern was obvious. She smiled softly and tried to calm down them down. Half crying because of their concern and half because of the pain of being squeezed by Mayu.
