LUKE'S POV

I went outside to get the nurse. The moment I told her Cheyenne was awake, she came running behind me to check on her.

Turns out my baby girl's gonna be fine, but she's gonna need surgery to remove the tumor.

"Tumor? Surgery? What? Daddy, Mama, please tell me she's lying." I looked over at Caroline, and then back to Cheyenne. "I'm afraid she's not baby girl. It's gonna be ok though. The doctors can remove it, and you'll be fine," I told her. I can see the tears building up in her eyes. This is breaking my heart. It seems like one thing after another. "We can schedule the surgery for tomorrow morning. The sooner we do it, the sooner you can leave." I see her blink back the tears, put on a smile, and say "Let's do

it." Dang, my baby is one strong country girl.

The nurse writes down some notes, and then heads out of the room. She also pumps some pain stuff into Cheyenne's IV to keep her head from hurting. "Daddy?" "Yeah Cheyenne?" "Can I see BoBo and Taterbug before I head into surgery tomorrow?"

I left the boys with Jordan and Kris, and I think that's probably where they need to stay for now. I don't want them hanging around this horrible place. But I see Cheyenne's big brown, hopeful eyes. How can I say no? "I'll see what we can do," I say. I see her face light up. "Why don't you try to rest right now. Ok?" "Ok Daddy," she says. I sit down in the chair, next to the bed with my two favorites girls In it and go to sleep.
