"Have you stopped?" I asked while playing in her hair.

She looked at me and shook her head. I sat up on the grass in front of her and placed one hand in front of her. The grip on her oversized sleeve grew tighter as she shook her head.

"Let me see."

No. She shook her head and pulled the jumpers sleeves over her hands.

"Show me your face."

No. I adjusted my hoodie over my face and looked down at her fingertips that rested on her legs.

"Do you think I'm going to hurt you?" I took her hand and cupped it with mine.

Ana bent her head down and her breaths quickened. Comfortingly, so softly Ruben the palm of her hand and used my lifted up her head with my other hand. A tear fell from her eye quickly and I wiped it away. Her hands reached up to mine and pulled my hand away from her face.

I felt horrible. Asking her to show me her deepest secret and she barley even knew me. I held my hoodie at the back of my head and thought deeply, hesitating to take it off... Anna, I called her and she looked up at me with tears on the brim of her eyes.

"Promise me you won't leave me." I struggled to say, my throat strained.

She nodded her head.

"I need you to say it."

She smiled painfully and nodded her head again, "I... I promise."

I pulled my hoodie off of my head. She didn't notice. I pulled her into a tight hug and rubbed her back as I heard her tear up slowly. She doesn't deserve any of this. Whatever it is, she doesn't deserve it. She wrapped her hands around my shoulders and pulled me closer as I stroked a hand through her hair slowly and held her close.

"You don't deserve this." She cried out.

I pulled us apart and watched as she bowed her head, "deserve what?"

She shrugged her shoulders an played with a loose thread on her jumper, "I'm ruining your life. I barely know you and I-"

She knew. She stared at my orange hair in shock and trailed down to my eyes reaching a hand out to run a hand across my check and have it rest at the back of my neck before blinking widely. Ana bit the inside of her check as she ran her hand over her face in thought. I heard her whisper my name and I smiled lightly at her. Her face dropped and she stood up and ran.

But she promised she wouldn't leave.
