Calypso

I was glad, most definitely completely glad. Leo had his friends and I had my new friends, and I had Chris. I was learning new things in school, and that was good. I was trying to avoid Leo so that he could spend time with his real friends. Kailee was also getting close to Leo, I mean I could not blame her. Leo had those dreamy chocolate eyes and that stupid annoying laugh. She probably thought they way he looked when he made his focused face was cute. Or the way he smiled when you started to tickle him. I could just imagine them sitting contentedly under a tree, and he would kiss her gently, like he was afraid she would push him away. Then she would get to put her arms around his neck and play with his adorably, unruly hair. They would stay like that for a while, his hands resting on her waist, then they would stop and stare at the sky. She would probably lay on his arm and he would point at clouds that he thought were shaped like things, and she would not be able to control her laughter.

"Calypso?"

"Huh? Oh sorry." Chris was sitting in front of me.

"You kinda spaced out, and you're gripping your pants really tight. You aren't mad are you? All I asked is if you want to get coffee." He grabbed my hand but I was still tense. He placed his other hand on my cheek. "So coffee?" His lips were inches from mine and I could feel his warm breath. He used the hand on my cheek to pull me closer. Immediately I knew that it was not right, but I did not push him away. Chris's lips were much fuller than Leo's but they seemed demanding. I kissed him back, our lips moved against each other but it felt awkward and I wanted to end it but something told me not too. I don't like him. The voice said. Not the time. I answered back. The voice had a horrible habit of talking at the most inconvenient times. Come on Calypso, just stop, you don't like him. Go find Leo. That stupid voice was unrelenting. Why don't you find another head! I thought as loudly as I could. Look at you, using contractions. I'll leave now but do not forget what I said. I sighed, Chris was still kissing me. He began to tilt me back until I was laying and he was hovering over me. I heard a click.

"Look Chris, we need to talk." The voice was familiar, and Chris finally stopped.

"Oh hey Leo, what's up?" Chris said sitting. "What do you want to talk about?"

"Actually I don't have anything to say. I just need to grab something from my room. Um I'll see you later." Leo nodded and closed the door sharply.

"I thought you needed something?" Chris shouted "Whatever," he waved at the door. "He's so weird."

"I should probably go see what he wants."

"Calypso, he's fine. He was probably just going to remind me about how much he wants to be with you." He laughed.

"Be with me?" I questioned.

"I've told you before, he's practically in love with you. Now, lets stop talking about that runt and get back to what we were doing before." He grabbed my face, and pulled me into another kiss.

“Chris,” I pushed him away, “Don't.”

“C'mon Calypso.” He cooed and leaned his forehead on mine.

“I need to talk to Leo.” I said. “So stop.”

“Calypso, He's a loser, and you're a beautiful girl. You should be with a guy like me. Strong, athletic, pretty attractive. Honey, there is no guy, at this school more attractive than me.” He looked at me with his color changing eyes. They looked familiar but I ignored it.

“He is also my best friend.” I said and his hands slipped off my cheeks.

“Oh, Yeah,” Chris laughed like he knew something I didn't. “ You're definitely his best friend.” He crossed his arms across his chest and chuckled a little more.

“What are you getting at?”

“He obviously likes all those other kids more than you.” Chris tucked a piece of hair behind my ear.

“Well, they have all been through hell and back together.” I said then mumbled. “Some more literally than others.” I imagined Percy's green eyes and the way he looked at Annabeth, his face filled with love and you could just see how happy he was to see her.

“If you ask me they all seem pretty sketchy.” He said.

“I'm going to go find him,” I smiled at Chris. “I'll come see you later.”

“Calypso we were having a great time, he can wait.” He whined. I stood and walked out on the hunt for Leo. I made my way first to the robotics room. Yvonne and Daniel hadn't seen him and when I ran into Percy and Jason they said they hadn't seen him. I made my way around the school asking people if they had seen him. I aimlessly walked through the halls until I found my way to the garden. The garden was nothing like the one I had on Ogygia, but it was still beautiful. There was a large flowery canopy hanging above a circular plaza, a fountain sat in the middle and spewed out a recycled stream of clear blue water. I watched the water fill the pool and breathed in the sweet scent of roses and hibiscus flowers. Have you found Leo? The voice shattered the peace I had been feeling among the plants. Go away. I thought as angrily as I could. Calypso, please stop being so mean to me. The voice made a noise that sounded like laughter. Do you remember when I was your only friend? All those years we spent alone on that island. Now we're finally free and you can't let yourself be with the only person that could make you happy. I felt tears stinging my eyes. Please. I begged. Go find him. It commanded. Check Piper's room. I turned back and made a beeline for the daughter of Aphrodite's room. When I got there I hesitated before hitting my knuckles against the door.

“Don't sit on anything.” I heard Piper say before she opened the door. “Oh, hi Calypso. I don't think Leo wants to talk to you right now.” She said and I could feel the sass in her voice. “So you should go.” There was charmspeak in her words and I felt my body pull me away from the door.

“Piper, don't use charmspeak on her.” Leo said from inside. “Let her in.” Piper rolled her eyes and opened the door wider. I stepped in and saw flames curling on his fingers. “Hi.” He said and waved the flames off his hand. “Can we talk?” He asked Piper.

“Go for it.” She plopped herself on the bed and looked between us.

“Alone.” Leo urged.

“Oh, right.” Piper said and nodded at us. “Not like this is my room or anything.” She walked out slowly, and when she finally made her way out the door it had at least been three minutes.

“So, what's up?” Leo asked. I looked into his chocolate eyes a second longer, before I threw my arms around his neck and cried into his shoulder.

“I'm so sorry.” I sobbed. His skin was still extremely hot to the touch but I didn't care, I let his warmth engulf me. He rubbed my back and told me it would be okay. “I do not even like Chris.” My voice was a mixture of moans and screeches.

“I love you Calypso.” Leo whispered and I was not sure if he said it or not.

Alrighty. I don't like this one very much and its pretty short but you can comment and vote. Thanks! Also these characters belong too Rick Riordan.
