"Piper, you can't just show up to my school. Anyway it's the first day, what was so urgent?"

"You have to tell calypso." She looked at me, her kaleidoscope eyes pleading.

"You've been telling me that all summer, why so urgent all of the sudden?" I noticed my fingers tapping against my leg. "Let's talk in my room." I grabbed her arm and we made our way to my room. We got there with a minimal amount of comments towards Piper. When we got to my room we sat criss-cross applesauce facing each other.

"My mom came to me in a dream." She broke the eye contact we had going on, and examined something on my sheet.

"What did she tell you?" Piper pursed her lips and kept picking at whatever was bothering her so much about my sheet. "C'mon beauty queen you have to tell me."

"She told me that I had to tell you to tell Calypso that you love her." She looked up at me. "Leo she sai-" Piper froze. I waved a hand in front of her nose.

"Look," A woman's voice said, she sat on Chris's bed. "Hun, you need to eat something get some meat on those bones. Good gods." I was at a loss for words, this woman was gorgeous. Her hair was swept to the side, wait no, it fell in long curls, no, it was short and straight. Everything about her kept shifting from one beautiful feature to the next. For a second she looked like Hazel, and then Calypso. I hadn't even noticed the table that was sitting in the middle of the room that was full of delicious foods.

"Um. Aphrodite?" She smiled. "What's up?" The goddess threw her head back and laughed.

"Oh dear, you are probably my favorite of my old husbands sons." She stood and sat in one of the chairs at the table she had conjured up. I looked at Piper who was still frozen mid sentence. "Don't worry about my daughter, she's just in a trance." The goddess poured herself a cup of tea and began sipping. "I sent her a dream, I wanted her to tell you but she was doing a horrible job so here I am." She showed me her dazzling smile again. "Sweetie, I love making love hard for you mortals. You are all just so cute." She sipped her tea. "So I made a deal with the fates," my throat suddenly felt very dry and the food looked a lot less appetizing "And basically you and Calypso are going to fall in love by the end of the year." Something warm sprouted inside of me. "But not necessarily with each other." Her smile looked almost like an evil sneer and the warm feeling in my stomach was replaced by an icy dagger.

"So she might fall in love with Chris?" My words were barely a whisper.

"Mmhhmm. Or maybe she'll fall in love with you, or maybe someone else. And you, sweetpea, will also fall in love with someone. Calypso or someone else. Goodbye, dear, and good luck, eat some more protein." She slowly faded away taking her table of food with her.

"-d that you would... Um.. How'd you get over there?" Her head was tilted to the side.

"She just came. She told me." Piper's eyes filled with concern.

"I'm sorry Leo, I should have told you." I took the despair and shoved it deeper in my stomach.

"No biggie Pipes. I mean I'm Leo Valdez, bad boy supreme." I smirked at her, and she rolled her eyes.

"Now go eat. If I hear that you're skipping meals, I'll get Annabeth on you." I knew it was an idle threat but the daughter of Athena still terrified me.

"Alright remind the wonder boy to feed Festus the oil he likes."

"Okay, I'll see you in a few weeks." She planted a friendly kiss on my cheek and messed my hair up. "Tell Calypso."

"Yeah," I laughed nervously. "See you around beauty queen." She walked out of the room, I sat on the bed and buried my head in my hands. I held back tears but let my body be consumed in flames. After I had calmed down, I let the flames recede and headed for the dining hall. My robotics friends were sitting around their usual table laughing together. Noah had a spaghetti noodle hanging off the bridge of his nose.

"Who was that girl?" Daniel greeted me.

"Who? Piper? She's one of my best friends." Daniel looked unsatisfied with my answer. I glanced over at Calypso, she was laughing at something. I examined her table mates. They were all very cliché, red lips, thin waists. Mostly they were average looking, some more attractive than others. They weren't really anything special, except for the dark haired girl at the end of the table. If Calypso weren't in the room, she would be the most beautiful girl there.

"Why do you keep looking over there?" Jensen whispered. "Is it that girl Calypso?"

"Uh..Yeah." I wasn't sure what to say.

"You like her, huh?" I sighed nodding. "She's really pretty."

"Tell me about it." The bell rang and I walked with Yvonne, to P.E. She talked a lot about stuff I didn't care about, but I did pick some things up, about her and Daniel dating and some stuff about Chris. Our gym teacher was fat and had a thick mustache and a bald head that was concealed with a baseball cap. He talked about dressing out and running miles. Chris was in my class and he was sitting with a bunch of other dumb looking guys throwing pieces of paper.

“Hey Valdez!” He motioned me towards him, Yvonne shrugged at me and I headed over to him. “These are some of my friends,” Chris explained, and rattled off the names of the five boys around him. “Look, we don't mind giving a beating to anyone.” His ugly friends snickered.

“I'll have you know, I've been beat up by people a lot bigger and stronger than you.” I tried, they laughed again. “Wow that sounded a lot better in my head.” I said under my breath.

“Whatever, Valdez, just stay away from Calypso.” They stood and walked as a group away from me.

“That's right, you better run.” I said just loud enough, that Yvonne who had come up behind me could hear.

“You sure showed them.” She giggled.

“Of course I did.”

Sorry that took so long, and this chapter sucks. Also I don't think I'm going to keep writing this so..
