Godzilla rushed through the remains of the train, carrying two survivors on his shoulders. When he found Mothra, who was healing some other survivors, he placed them beside her.
"I found two more." He said. Mothra nodded and turned her attention back to the old woman she was healing. She was unconscious, but when she would wake up, she would feel fine. She'd still need proper medical attention, but Mothra's powers would prevent her and a lot of other people from dying.
"I can't believe something like this happened." She said. She sounded like she was on the verge of tears. "All this destruction over a mask... Ghidorah's gone too far this time."
"I know." Godzilla said, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "We just need to do what we can to help. Keep healing these people until the paramedics arrive. I'll go find more survivors."
Mothra sniffled and nodded, and Godzilla rushed off. Anguirus passed him, carrying four mor survivors. Battra was guiding a conscious survivor over to Mothra, though they seemed completely shell shocked. Godzilla understood why. Baragon was digging people out of the wreckage with his shovels. Rodan flew overhead, looking for other survivors outside of the train.
"Find anyone else?" Godzilla called up to him.
"No, I think we got everyone." Rodan said back. "I'll keep watch, but I think the best course of action would be to keep searching the train."
Godzilla nodded and continued. After another half hour of searching and healing, several paramedic helicopters arrived. The Kaiju still helped the paramedics load people onto the helicopters, as well as several trucks that arrived later, and helped comfort the others who couldn't be loaded on. Eventually, one of the paramedics approached Godzilla.
"How many survivors did you find?" He asked.
"We found 56 on the train, and 15 outside the train." Godzilla said. "The ones outside were injured a lot worse than the others."
The paramedic nodded. "That equals out to 71 survivors. We counted the same."
Godzilla sighed. "There were over 300 people on that train." He said. "Less than a fourth of those people survived."
He looked out at the train as the paramedic nodded.
"Thank you, Godzilla. You and the others helped a lot, but we're doing all we can for these people." He said. With that said, he walked away to continue helping people. Godzilla knew he was right, but something still bothered him. He continued to look out at the train wreckage. He clenched his fist in anger. In his eyes, this was the Toa's fault. Gigan may have set off the bomb, but he wouldn't have had the chance if Godzilla and the others went after him. The Toa had no idea what they were up against. They acted without thinking, and the train exploded under their watch. He saw a glint of red among the twisted metal and flames. It was armour. And Godzilla recognized the armour belonged to Tahu. Tahu met his gaze, and the two stared each other down. While the paramedics, Kaiju, and other Toa weren't looking, Tahu and Godzilla approached each other. Finally, they were face to face.
"So, you're a Toa." Godzilla growled.
"And you're a Kaiju." Tahu retorted. "Just like the Kaiju who destroyed this train."
Godzilla gritted his teeth. "That happened under your watch. You're dealing with things you have no idea about. My friends and I have fought these people before. We know how they work and what they're like. If it was us up there, we would have stopped them before this happened!"
Tahu furrowed his brow and clenched his fist. It was hard for him to hold back his anger.
"Do yourself a favour, Tahu." Godzilla continued. "Go home. We'll handle the mask."
"Yeah, I'm sure you will." Tahu growled.
"What?" Godzilla asked.
"I know what you want with that mask." Tahu continued. "I saw you that day at the museum. You wanted that mask just as much as Gigan did. I'm not letting you get your hands on it."
Godzilla was at a loss for words. It was almost funny. He would have laughed if the situation wasn't so serious.
"You think I want the mask for myself?" He finally asked in disbelief. Tahu said nothing, but Godzilla could guess the answer was yes. Godzilla sighed angrily and rolled his eyes.
"Whatever. I don't have time to argue." He said. He turned to walk away, but continued talking. "I don't trust you, so I guess you don't have to trust me. But I suggest you take my advice. Go back to your timeline, and leave this to the people who actually know what they're doing."
That statement sent Tahu over the edge. He shouted in anger as he launched a fireball at Godzilla. He heard the sound and turned around just in time to dodge out of the way. In retaliation, he drew his sword and sent an atomic blast at Tahu. He dodged as well, but the blast left massive impression on the rock face behind him. Before a fight could begin proper, Mothra, along with Rodan, Anguirus, Battra, and Baragon ran over to Godzilla.
"Godzilla, we saw a fireball and your atomic blast. What's going on?" Mothra asked.
At the same time, the other Toa arrived, crowding around Tahu.
"Tahu, are you alright?" Gali asked. They each noticed each other and made eye contact, staring at each other for a good while. Tahu was still enraged, but he managed to hold back. Godzilla stared at him calmly, daring him to attack again. In the end, Tahu decided not to.
"Let's go." Tahu said. He left, and the other Toa followed, still occasionally eyeing the Kaiju, who were still staring.
"So those were the Toa." Rodan said. "I thought they were just a legend."
"I guess not." Anguirus said. "Guess that meant the Mask of Control is the real deal, huh?"
"And it'll be in Ghidorah's hands soon because of them." Godzilla snapped. "Let's get going. We need to prepare."
The other Toa agreed, and they all loaded onto an empty truck driven by one of the paramedics. The trucks left, heading towards a hospital in Kyoto. From there, Godzilla and the others would head back to Monster Island, and begin preparing for Ghidorah's inevitable attack.
Gigan chuckled as the trucks sped away. He was hiding behind a tree. He reached inside his jacket and produced the Mask of Control.
"Now to get you to Ghidorah." He said. He pressed a button on the side of his glasses, and an image of Biolante appeared on the heads-up display on the lens. This was a communication channel connected to Biolante's wrist-mounted communicator.
"I got the mask. How're you guys faring?" He asked.
"We're fine here." Biolante said. "Just hold onto the mask, and we'll find you."
"Good. I'll call down another pod to pick us up." Gigan said. Biolante nodded, shutting off the communication. Gigan smiled wickedly and called down an escape pod. It would arrive in a half hour, which would be more than enough time for Biolante and the others to find him. Everything was going well for them. Suddenly, Gigan felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around, but saw nothing, until he heard someone clearing her throat. He looked down, and saw a girl with red hair. She was much shorter than him, and couldn't have been older than 18. Gigan raised an eyebrow.
"What do you want, kid?" He asked.
"The mask." She said, holding out her hand. "Give it here now."
Gigan scoffed. "You'd better scram, kid." He said. "Or maybe I should teach you a lesson-"
The girl suddenly punched Gigan in the face. The speed and placement of the punch knocked Gigan out completely cold. He fell down into the snow. The girl smiled and reached into his coat, pulling out the Mask of Control.
"That was way too easy." 3DS chuckled. "I thought Gigan was supposed to be some crazy assassin dude. No wonder Godzilla beat him so many times." She held up the mask and looked at it carefully.
"Oh well. At least I got this bad boy." She said. "Now to return it to the Toa."
She pressed two buttons on the sides of her boots, and activated a metallic snowboard that extended out of the soles of her feet, and sped down the mountain.
"Gigan. Gigan! Wake up!" Biolante said.
Gigan groaned and opened his eyes. Biolante, Destroyah, and Hedorah were standing over him. There was an escape pod next to them.
"Oh... hey guys." He said. "What am I doing here... wait..." He suddenly shot up and felt his jacket. The mask was gone. He realized what had happened and groaned furiously, placing his hands on his face.
"God dammit!" He shouted. "That stupid girl must have stolen the damn mask!"
"What girl?" Biolante asked. "And what do you mean she stole the mask?"
"Some teenager came up to me a knocked me out. She said she wanted the mask, so she probably took it when she left." Gigan grumbled. He heard the others stifling their laughter.
"You got knocked out... by a teenage girl?" Hedorah snickered.
"Yeah, laugh it up." Gigan snapped. "Ghidorah's gonna kill all of us when we get back."
"No, he'll just kill you." Destroyah chuckled. Even Biolante was laughing. She was pretty bad at holding it back.
"C'mon, not you too." Gigan said, rolling his eyes.
"Sorry, I can't help it!" Biolante laughed. Gigan rolled his eyes again, and motioned towards the pod.
"Let's just get back to Ghidorah." He said. "He's probably wondering why we aren't back yet."
The other regained their composure and agreed. They all piled into the pod, and lifted up towards Ghidorah's ship.
