After gathering the others, Godzilla lead them running down to the area where the Mask of Control was being kept. Just as they arrived, Godzilla saw a wooden crate being lifted out of a hole in the roof. The box contained the mask of control. Everyone ran over to it, but it was too late, the hole in the roof was closed up and welded shut. Godzilla slammed his fist into the wall in anger.
"Dammit! We're too late." He growled.
"We need to head to the roof." Baragon said.
Everyone agreed, and left the room. When they finally approached the back of the train, they noticed someone was already there. Godzilla recognized one of them as Tahu, the person he met earlier. Everyone else recognized the ones they had met as well.
"What are they doing here?" Godzilla asked. As he spoke, the group was incased in a bright light of various colours. The light was so blinding, Godzilla and the others stopped in their tracks. When the light finally dimmed, Godzilla could open his eyes again. He couldn't believe what he saw. The same people as before were standing before them, but now they were covered in armour and held weapons in their hands. Tahu was wearing red and gold armour, and had two golden swords on his back. He pressed a button on the side of the armour around his neck, and a mask formed around his face. The others did the same thing. Godzilla and Mothra's theory was confirmed. These were actually the Toa. The legends about them and the Mask of Control were true. Still, the Toa didn't seem to notice the Kaiju staring at them, and headed up to the top of the train. The Kaiju were in utter disbelief.
"Uh... what just happened?" Rodan asked. "Who the hell are they?"
"I think they're the Toa..." Godzilla said.
Gigan cracked open the wooden box with his arm, which he had morphed into a pry bar. Inside was indeed the Mask of Control. He picked it up and held it in front of the others.
"Alright! We got it!" He said.
"Good. Now let's get out of here before Godzilla and the others get up here." Destroyah said.
"Um... who are they?" Hedorah asked. They looked behind them, and saw six figures of various colours running towards them.
"Wait... I recognize them." Biolante said. Finally she placed them. "That's right, they're the Toa Ghidorah warned us about!"
"Let's get out of here!" Hedorah said. He was about to attempt an escape, but Gigan held him back.
"Relax." He said. "I got this."
When the Toa approached, Gigan actually approached them, holding up the Mask of Control. Tahu was surprised not to see Godzilla, but he recognized Gigan. He held out his sword.
"Hand over the mask, and nobody gets hurt." He threatened.
"Wait, you don't understand." Gigan said. "We're not stealing the mask. We're protecting it from Godzilla."
Obviously, Gigan was lying. The others were able to see through it, but the Toa were not easily convinced.
"You're lying." Tahu said. "I saw you at the museum. You were trying to steal it!"
"No, Godzilla was trying to steal it." Gigan lied. "I was trying to protect it from him. If he put it on, the results would be disastrous."
Tahu was beginning to believe him. But he wasn't entirely convinced yet.
"Alright, then hand over the mask." He said. "If we share a common goal, you'll have no problem handing the mask over to us."
"We will, but not yet." Gigan lied. "Godzilla's still looking for it. If we hand it over right now, you'll be a target."
Tahu was sure they were lying. And glancing at the other Toa, he could tell they agreed with him. He turned back to Gigan.
"We're not falling for that." He said. Gigan shrugged.
"Eh, worth a shot." He said. He tossed the mask behind him, and Biolante caught it. While Tahu was distracted by this, Gigan shot foreward and attacked Tahu, who dodged and attacked back with his sword. While the two fought, Biolante took the mask and ran along with the others. They planned on running to the front of the train, where an escape pod was waiting for them. Gigan would join them later. Lewa noticed this, and flew around Tahu and Gigan to catch them. Kopaka followed, surfing on a cloud of snow. Lewa landed in front of Biolante and smirked.
"Going somewhere, miss?" He asked. Biolante sneered.
"Yes, and you're in our way." She said, raising her arm. As she did, a vine suddenly erupted out of the ground and grabbed him as the train sped away. Kopaka stopped in front of him.
"What was that?" He asked. "Did you summon that vine?"
"No, of course not." He said, moving the vine away from him using his powers. He landed on the ground safely. "I guess she can control plants too."
Kopaka looked at the train as it sped away. He sighed in frustration.
"There's no way we'll catch up to them now." He said.
"Maybe not, but we can still try!" Lewa said. He jumped into the air and flew after the train. Kopaka rolled his eyes and followed him, summoning another snow cloud. Meanwhile, Biolante was and the others were intercepted by a boulder hitting them and knocking them off the train. The boulder was sent by Pohatu. Luckily, Biolante dropped the mask when she got knocked away. Gigan noticed this.
"Dammit!" He growled. He kicked Tahu in the stomach, making him keel over in pain while Gigan ran to grab the mask. When the Toa realized what he was doing, they rushed to stop him. But it was too late. Gigan grabbed the mask right before the Toa could reach him. Just as he did, he pressed down on a button on a remote hidden in his jacket. As soon as he pressed the button, the train exploded. Each car erupted in a ball of fire. The Toa, along with Gigan, were sent flying. What the Toa and Godzilla didn't know was that Gigan and the others had rigged each of the train cars with explosives before it left the station. Lewa and Kopaka stopped as they caught up with the train, seeing it completely stopped and on fire. Their eyes widened.
"Oh no..." Lewa muttered.
"Gali!" Kopaka shouted. He ran towards the wreckage and found the other Toa. They were all lying strewn about randomly in the snow. The others were face down, except for Gali. Kopaka knelt next to her as she began to regain consciousness. He deactivated her mask so he could see her face.
"Gali, are you alright?" He asked. It took a short while for Gali to realize what had happened.
"Yeah... I'm fine." She muttered. Kopaka breathed a sigh of relief and helped her up. She looked in horror at the twisted metal wreckage that was once a train.
"What... how did this happen?" She asked.
Kopaka didn't have an answer. But Tahu, who just began standing himself back up, had a good idea as to what had happened.
"Those Kaiju must have set a bomb on the train." He said. He knew it must have been Gigan who placed the bombs, but that didn't sway his theory that Godzilla was somehow involved. In his eyes, Godzilla was just as guilty.
"They stole the mask." Kopaka said. "Dammit... we failed."
"No, we didn't." Tahu said. "We can still get it back."
"But how? How're we gonna find those guys again?" Lewa asked.
"We won't have to." Tahu said. "I think I know who's behind all this..."
