| Melissa's POV |

I gave the two men a childish pout as they continued to laugh at me. "Why are you laughing?" I groaned, glaring at them. They soon hushed up, both shrunk in their seats. I held my head up high, scoffing at the two.

Are men always this way?

They both looked down at the floor like children who did something wrong. I looked around my surroundings in more detail. There wasn't much in the room, which doesn't surprise me because they both seemed like men who didn't care about making their home look more homely.

They continued to look down at the floor, occasionally sharing glances with each other.  I let out a deep sigh, catching the attention of the taller one...Toast was it?

"Where is it you live, miss?" he asked, breaking the awkward silence between the three of us.

I looked at him with a confused expression on my face. He must've caught on to my expression.
"I was only asking because I wanted to take you home in the morning" he said with a smile on his face.

My expression softened. He is such a gentleman... I returned the smile and gave a soft chuckle.

"Oh right, of course." I told him my address and he stood up from his seat. I looked up at him.

"You need some more rest otherwise I'd take you back tonight." he looked down at me with his soft blue eyes and a gentle smile on his face.

I nodded sheepishly, giving a rather shy smile as he walked out.

Now I can see why girls find them so attractive...

Ghost remained silent the entire time Toast and I conversed. I looked at him, tilting my head like a curious puppy. He appeared to be in deep thought,  the look of many regrets and added confusion was plastered on his face.

"Johnny?" I asked softly, giving him a gentle and sympathetic look.
He flinched at my touch, making myself jump in unison.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you.."

"It's fine. I am a little on edge , that's all." he gave a very uncertain smile, one that even a dense person could easily see past.

I choose not to push him further, I was a stranger to him after all. I let out a sigh and flashed a quick smile.
He moved his gaze elsewhere in the room. He clearly had a lot on his mind.

Toast returned and looked like he was wearing a blue apron. For some odd reason, it made him look more attractive. What the he'll has gotten into me?

"You two hungry?" He asked us with a soft smile. I nodded and smiled back. Ghost looked up and nodded slowly. Toast gave with a concerned look to Ghost, he merely waved it off allowing toast to return to the kitchen to cook up something.

"Is everything alright, Johnny?" I finally decided to ask him. Genuine concern rung in my soft voice.

He looked at me blankly, his eyes filled with sadness.... And....regret.
He nodded sheepishly, not saying a single word.

I didn't believe him whatsoever but I chose not to push it further. We were strangers after all.

"Alright.." I said simply. I moved my gaze forward. The atmosphere in this room became awkward. It wasn't very pleasant.

After a long and painful silence, Toast finished up cooking and the three of us sat down at the small, round table in the kitchen.

Toast and I talked the most as Ghost sat there, playing with his food with his fork.
