| Melissa's POV |
I was frozen in place; my body was refusing to move. My eyes would not look away from what was in front of me. I could feel my legs shake with fear.
"Toast..." My voice was shaking as I spoke, it came out softer than I expected. Sadly, what I was looking at, was not Toast, rather, what was left of him. In his place, a tall, black-furred, yellow-eyed beast with torn clothing that was clearly Toast's.
The beast whimpered in a hunched over position, as if it was hurt or something. I bit my bottom lip, knowing I shouldn't get any closer and make a break for it into Billy's room, or even in the lobby downstairs. But my curiosity was taking over me, and I found myself automatically walking closer to it.
My hand was out stretched as I moved slowly towards the beast, as if I was trying to gain the trust of an animal, which he technically was.
His amber eyes faded into blue as he inched closer towards me, as if it was a sign that he was remembering who I was. I smiled gently yet still nervous, given the nature of werewolves being so unpredictable.
I was about to touch his head when a woman's scream startled myself and the beast. His eyes snapped back to amber, a low snarl directed towards me as he leap onto me, making me crash to the ground. The impact had winded me. I struggled to regain my breath, it hurt to breathe.
The beast pinned me down, snarling viciously. I was scared out of my mind. I turned my head to the side, closing my eyes tightly as I waited for my untimely demise.
A loud crash caught my attention, along with the beast's. The door to my room was smashed open. A figure stood in the door way, it was hard to see who it was but I had a feeling I already knew. The figure lunged at the beast, knocking him off me. The two fought for a while before crashing out of the window.
I was in a panicked state, still in shock from everything. It was all happening too fast. Billy came running in, hearing the commotion from his room. I was confused when I saw him. If this was Billy then who was that fighting out there?
"You okay Melissa?" Billy asked. I didn't respond, I only stood up and went to the window, curious about what was happening after they fell. Both the beast and the mysterious figure were still fighting. Finally they got under some light and I could clearly see who it was.
"Ghost??" No, maybe it wasn't Ghost. Maybe it was Jimmy. Or whatever. I still had no clue what was happening with anything any more.
"Billy we have to do something, one of them could end up hurt or worse, dead" my voice trembled with worry and fear.
Billy stood there, not doing anything. "It will be fine. This happens a lot" he said bluntly.
It happens a lot? I began to think the more I stayed around these lunatics, the more things started to make less sense.
I couldn't help but feel worried though. Toast was a hairy beast and Ghost was secretly a psychotic murderer. Either would get seriously hurt or even killed.
It was oddly surprising that no one from the hotel was outside or even screaming about there being a werewolf and a murderer fighting outside.
A whimper escaped from Toast as Ghost had driven his blade into his side. The beast let out a roar, running off into the woods, Ghost followed after him.
"Toast is hurt! Come on Billy we have to go after them" without thinking or allowing Billy to retort, I darted out of the hotel, Billy trailing shortly behind me. I kept running in the direction I had last seen the two dart off.
"Mel! Slow down!" Billy yelled, trying to get me to stop or slow down, but I didn't listen. They could be in massive trouble and I wasn't ready to slow down. Billy managed to catch up to me and tackle me to the ground. He pinned me down but I tried to escape.
"Billy let go I have to-" before I could finish my sentence Billy covered my mouth with his hand.
"They are fine. They are over there" Billy said, pointing in a direction. I turned my head to see Toast in ripped clothing, human once more. The sun was coming up in the distance. Toast was holding the limp body of his dear friend.
Billy got off me, allowing me to stand up. I stood up quickly, a little too quickly. I felt dizzy, using a tree to keep myself up.
"Is he okay?!" I asked in a panic. Toast nodded.
"Yes he is fine. Just knocked out. He'll come to soon.." Toast sounded exhausted. He looked it too.
"We should head back to the hotel...I am sure we're going to be in a lot of trouble for the broken door and window.." I said, pointing behind me in the direction of the hotel, dread filling deep inside me for what consequences were to await us.
Toast softly chuckled before starting to walk, Ghost still passed out in his arms. "Don't worry this happens a lot, they are used to it by now" he weakly smiled.
There were those words again.. Seriously what was with this place? Why was everyone so used to whatever madness happens? This place was far from normal compared to my hometown. I wanted to escape but I ended up in a place that was possibly even worse than the last.
It took us a while to walk back, I didn't realise how far we were. I mean, we did run so that probably contributes to how quickly we ended up there.
We were all exhausted from the whole situation but Toast got Ghost back. But I wasn't too sure for how long that would last. I wanted to sleep but also knew that even if I had tried, I wouldn't be able to close my eyes.
Toast was resting, which was a good thing seeing as he was the only one with a licence to drive. It would end up tragic if we set out now with a weak and tired driver.
I sat and watched Ghost sleeping. Its creepy, I know but to think someone who has killed people mercilessly could look so peaceful while he slept.
But still, it was hard to forgive him for what he has done, even if it wasn't him. She was my best friend and now she is gone. All because of him.
Billy was also sound asleep, it was just me awake. I honestly wanted to get away from these people but something was keeping me there. I don't know what it was.
[[An: boh kay. I know I sent out a message saying I wasn't able to update. I forgot I had the actual finished part on my phone and not on my computer. So enjoy. Updates are still very slow so thanks to those who patiently wait for these chapters to come out. Not very good at writing but glad to see some people enjoy it. I am getting more motivation to write but I just don't know what to write]]
