Chapter Five - No Memories

A couple days pass and I'm still in the hospital. I still don't understand who half of these people are. That Luke guy I kissed the other day hasn't come back and I figure I scared him off. I've been sleeping a lot and I keep waking up to this guy with a strange voice trying to get me to remember him.

"I'm your boyfriend." he keeps repeating and I just look at him confused.

"I'm sorry. I don't remember." I say looking at my reflection in the mirror across from me. I lay my fingertips over the strange bruises. One is around my eye, the other,a giant hand print size, on my cheek. "who did these?" I ask the man.

"uhm." he hesitates and then he reaches up, taking my hand. "that man, Luke. He did that. You did nothing and he just came back, lost it when he saw you with me. He was coming after me, you tried to calm him down but he just back handed you, then punched you in the eye.."

He drifts off and strokes my arm lightly. "I would never do that to you." he leans up,pressing his lips to my forehead.

I sit up in my own bed, looking down at Ezra, the man from the hospital. He hasn't left my side since the hospital and I don't understand why. Ezra's eyes drift open lightly. His arms wrap around my waist, making me fall back and curl into his chest. His palm rubs against my back, slowly his hand creeps under his T-shirt that I'm wearing. Ezra's hand is cold against my warm skin.

It seems weird to me that a strange man who says he's my boyfriend, even though I don't remember him at all, insisted on sleeping in the same bed as me last night. I lay awkwardly in this position for about forty-five minutes before Ezra wakes up and smiles up at me.

"hey, Babe" he says in his sleepy voice.

"hey, uh, you." I respond, pushing him away. "I'm gonna go get dressed." he releases me and I look over my shoulder a couple times so see Ezra smiling at me. I wave awkwardly as he waves happily at me.

I make it to the bathroom and close the door behind me. My reflection stares back at me and I sigh.

Who am I? Who was I before the accident? More importantly, why did I kiss that Luke guy?

I decide to put off these questions for now and I turn on the hot water in the shower.

"C'mon, Darling! We are going to your father's house." Ezra yells and I sigh again, walking out of the bathroom and fixing my hair.

Great. More people trying to get me to remember them.

----Luke----

"so she kissed you?" my best friend, Blake, asks leaning forward leaning his elbows on his knees. I nod.

"yes. She whispered my name then kisses me." I bury my face in my hands, then run my fingers through my hair. "I still love her,Blake."

"I know you do, Buddy." he pats my shoulder. "you need to tell her how you feel."

"I wouldn't matter even if I did. She's in love with that City Slicker, Ezra Something."

"so? At least she'll know how you feel." he stands and pats my shoulder again. "I'll come by and see you later."

Blake is right. I have to tell Liz how I feel. Memory loss or not.

----Liz----

Ezra grips my hand, lacing his fingers through mine. I feel awkward again and pull my hand away from his as we walk.

"Babe?"

"I don't know you,okay!" I yell out of no where. "I don't know you! I don't care that you're apparently my boyfriend! You're creepy! Just leave me alone!" I shout at him and he looks at me shocked. He says nothing and I look down at his hands, who are turning into fists. My breathing stops and step away from him. Ezra swings his fist and it misses as I dodge it. I kick his shins as hard as I can and he falls to the ground. I start to run away from him but he lounges at my legs, sending me to the ground. He climbs on top of me and brace my self for the worse. Before I can even react, Ezra is thrown off of me and I sit up to see Luke over Ezra punching the shit out of him. I stare in horror but can't look away.

"you never touch her!" Luke says between punches. Finally, he stands and I look up at him. "are you okay?" he asks and I nod.

"I am now."
