Jaebum almost choked as Mr Kim stopped at a traffic light.
"No!" He exclaimed quickly.
Mr Kim laughed at him before sighing.
"Jennie is very vulnerable. I don't say that because I'm her father but because I know her."
All Jaebum could wonder about was why he would ask or tell him such a thing.
"I've only just met you but I like you because you've risked your life to save hers. I knew someone who was willing to throw hers away just to save himself." He drove into a parking storey building and went all the way to the top.
"Who?"
"If you know Jennie you may have come across him." He shrugged as he turned off the car and got out with Jaebum following him and also getting out. "But like I was saying, me and Jennie didn't part ways on good terms, we haven't spoken properly in a while."
"Sorry but...may I ask why you're telling me this?"
"Because I want to trust you."
"Why?"
"The only way you can tell if you trust someone is to simply trust them."
Jaebum nodded as Mr Kim led him towards what looked like a shopping mall. Their first stop was an expensive jewellery shop, as soon as Mr Kim walked in, the woman behind the counter got out a couple of boxes and greeted him.
"Morning Sir, these are the ones you have ordered." She said as she opened them one by one. In the first there was a set of earnings, very glamorous and large, the second one contained two bracelet cuffs and the third one contained a belt made entirely out of diamonds.
He took out his black card and paid for them without knowing the price and they were then placed in a bag for him to hold.
"Sir you forgot one!" The lady exclaimed as she handed him a smaller one. There were stud earrings in this one.
"Thank you." He said as he left with Jaebum by his side. "Now for your part."
He led Jaebum towards the store opposite which was a tailor suit shop.
"Morning Mr Kim." Greeted another woman and the entrance.
"Morning, my young friend here needs a suit for a college ball, I was wondering if you could tailor one for him?" Mr Kim explained to her as Jaebum shook his head.
"Sir, there's no need—I'm not going—"
"Nonsense, you're going. Step onto the podium." Jaebum just complied since that was his boss and stood still as the woman did his measurements.
"We have suits his size, is there a colour in particular that you'd like?" She asked as he shrugged.
"What's your latest trends?"
"Wine coloured three piece suits." She said as she showed him the mannequin which Jaebum actually really liked but then he saw the price tag above it and immediately shook his head.
"It's too expensive—"
"Can he try that one on?" Said Mr Kim, ignoring Jaebum's plea as the woman nodded and indicated for Jaebum to follow her.
He was handed the suit and went into the fitting room. It was a major designer tailored to the exact details but he knew he had no choice but to try it on.
