Playing with fire [Jennie Kim]

There was a pause.

The pause continued.

It continued until Jennie felt Jaebum's head on her shoulder.

He'd fallen asleep.

Jennie didn't know whether to go mad or laugh it off because it was annoying but funny at the same time.

Slowly, she placed her head on his shoulder too, so they were both leaning on each other and found it ever so comfortable. It wasn't long until she also fell into deep sleep.

That morning, they heard the alarm that practically woke up everyone else in the sauna and quickly had to apologise and turn it off. Jaebum found Jennie practically hugging his arm whilst also holding his hand. They quickly let each other go and then went to get ready in order to get to their dorm on time. Jaebum's aunt handed them some boiled eggs to eat on the way so they wouldn't be starving, they both thanked her and left.

Their bus journey home consisted of consistent yawns and stretching arms, since they slept so roughly. "That was a fun night..."

"I enjoyed it too." Jaebum smiled as he looked at Jennie before they shared eye contact and looked away.

"Who would've thought spending time with you at the sauna would be that relaxing and fun? Honestly I needed it. With Christmas coming up and people getting busy." Jennie sighed as she rested her head back onto the seat.

"Are you spending Christmas with your family?" Jaebum asked as Jennie nodded.

"I spent it with my girls last year, since Lisa and Rosè couldn't spend it with their families back at home." Jennie explained. "But the both of them are coming over to mine this head, Jisoo-unnie is probably going home to her family."

"How long is it until Christmas anyway?" He wondered, having only just noticed the huge amount of festive decor in shop windows.

"Literally a week!" Jennie exclaimed not realising how time had gone by so quick.

"Shit...I need to get everyone presents." Jaebum sighed. "At least I get paid tomorrow."

"Did you keep working whilst you were at home?" Jennie asked him.

"Well not at the ice cream parlour, but I went back to working at the construction place, so I might be working back at your house...but I also got a new job as a waiter at the place opposite the ice cream parlour." He told her casually as she couldn't believe her ears.

"How many jobs is that? Like four?!" Jennie exclaimed.

"No, it's two...well three if you include me working as a librarian—"

"You're going to end up overworking yourself...your hand only just got recovered!" Jennie exclaimed as she looked down at his covered hand.

"Is Jennie Kim worrying about me?" He smirked as she rolled her eyes.

"You wish, I'm worried just in general, I guess." She shrugged. "Besides, you're my study buddy."

Jaebum couldn't help but smile before pressing the stop button and getting off at their stop.

As they walked towards their dorm, a huge amount of students walked towards them to the bus stops and almost all of them turned to stare at them.
