Jaebum laughed.
"Oh man..." He chuckled as Jennie sniffles and looked up at him. "I thought you were here to ask for your camera or the rest of your money back."
She couldn't believe her ears. She had literally confessed to him and he had the nerve to call her a loan shark.
"Ya! Do I look like a Loan Shark to you?!" Jennie exclaimed, extremely angry and retracting her arms straight away.
"Well if you burn my mom's kimchi—"
Without a second to waste, she quickly turned off the stove and then put the kimchi to the side before making the stew properly.
"I seriously can't believe you, jerk." She whispered under her breath. She was totally embarrassed, being the shyest person on the planet, she couldn't believe she had gathered up the courage to actually confess.
"What did you call me?" Jaebum asked really close to her as she jumped.
"Ya, you son of a—"
"My mom's asleep!" Jaebum quickly covered her mouth as he laughed and went to take out the marinated meat and get the water.
To his surprise, Jennie didn't utter a word whilst she ended up taking over and making the entire stew herself, Jaebum tried his best to help out but all he ended up doing was playing with his cats and coming to check on her once in a while only for her to give him the silent treatment. Jaebum had to make the rice and take out the side dishes.
"Ya why are you quiet all of a sudden?" Jaebum finally asked as she plated it up for his Mom first.
"Isn't it time for your mom to wake up?"
"I knew it!" They both turned around to find Jaebum's mom with her crutch, hunched up against the door frame.
"Omma!" He exclaimed as they both quickly went to her aid but she quickly shooed him away and instead held onto Jennie.
"How could you let the guest cook whilst you play with your cats?!" She exclaimed as Jennie laughed a little and helped his mom go take a seat at the table.
"It's not like that—"
"He did cut the vegetables and the meat—"
"Nonsense, I'm so sorry Jendie, for having you come all the way from Hongdae to cook. It's so rude of us." His mom apologised as Jennie shook her head and placed the stew on the table before putting down the rest of the side dishes whilst Jaebum grabbed the chopsticks and spoons.
"Wow, this looks great. I can tell Jaebum didn't make this. Did your mom teach you?" She asked as Jennie nodded.
"Yeah, I learnt to make it as a kid." Jennie smiled as his mom's face lit up as she took a sip of the soup.
"Wa, it's amazing!"
"Thank you." Jennie bowed as she took a seat opposite Jaebum. "So how come you got hurt at work?"
"I slipped whilst cleaning—"
"Omma..."
"Why?! It wasn't my fault, one of the designers moved the wet floor sign!" His mom exclaimed angrily.
"But you cleaned it so you should've known where you had cleaned the floor—"
"Where do you work?" Jennie asked.
"Hera fashion, that magazine and fashion brand place in Gangnam." Jaebum told her as Jennie raised an eyebrow.
"That's where my mom works." Jennie said blankly as his mom stopped eating.
