After the incredible announcement, Gabbie was soon discharged from the hospital and somewhat moved in with Dan and Phil. All her belongings were at her house in Bristol, as it had been a day trip, but they thought it best for her to settle in first. Gabbie took accommodation on the sofa bed in the gaming channel room. She was sometimes woken up by the sound of Dan swearing at Eliza Pancakes but she didn't mind. Of course she joined in with videos, whether it be on their solo channels or joint gaming channel. Then came the time when she had to collect her belongings from her old home.
Phil stayed in London to 'look after the house'. Gabbie didn't understand why since it isn't necessary but she didn't question anything. So Dan travelled down with her to Bristol. She walked slowly through every room, collecting photographs, DVDs, books and the like. Gabbie paused in her mother's room and gazed around the space. The pictures yet to be put up, the old Polaroid camera on the shelf and the pristine cream sheets. Dan stood in the doorway and left her to her thoughts but Phil called and he walked a little way away to answer him. After he'd left, Gabbie knelt on the floor next to her late mum's bed and buried her face in the quilt. She cried. Of course, she loved the way her life had gone after the terrible shock but she still missed her mum. She wanted to tell her what had happened and everything inbetween. Dan ended his call and heard muffled sobs in the bedroom. Immediately concerned, he practically ran into the room and knelt down next to Gabbie. He hugged her from the side and said quietly "I know you miss her. I can't imagine what you're feeling right now but it'll be fine! Let's grab what you want from here and get back to Phil." Gabbie nodded and said a quiet word of thanks. She grabbed the Polaroid off the shelf and a few pictures and moved onto her bedroom.
Gabbie pulled open the door to her bedroom and realised something a little too late. Her black walls were covered in Dan and Phil posters, her shelves covered with Dan and Phil merchandise and her notice board was covered in photos of Dan and Phil with pink and red hearts surrounding them. Her face flushed a deep red and Dan just laughed. "Nice to know we have a fan. Don't be embarrassed it's somewhat... flattering!" Gabbie was less embarrassed now and her red face turned pink. "What am I going to do about my posters?" she said, worried. She didn't want to part with her posters but wondered if it would be ok to put them up the gaming channel room. "Don't worry Gabbie," Dan soothed, "once we get you a proper bedroom sorted, you can put them in there. For now though, we can safely store them and the rest of your merchandise!" Gabbie felt much better. Dan seriously knows how to make people feel good about themselves. She told him this and he went smiled, scratched he back of his head and flushed a light shade of pink.
After picking up the stacks and stacks of books from her shelves, Dan and Gabbie went to train station to go back to Phil in London. They sat down at a table, paid for their tickets, and Gabbie brought out a pack of cards. "I found them in my bedroom," she said "thought it'd be good to amuse ourselves!" Dan looked sheepish. "I don't know any cards games, sorry." Gabbie giggled and said "No worries! I'll teach you my favourite!" Gabbie taught Dan how to play a game called Go Fish, which she figured was pretty easy to understand. Dan caught on fast and they played a few good games during the hour and a quarter they were sat down. After the train journey, Dan hailed a cab back to the flat. A short car ride later and they were steadily climbing the stairs to the apartment. Phil welcomed them in and beckoned Dan over. They were being secretive, which Gabbie thought was weird but she didn't question anything. Phil said he and Dan needed to do something without her knowing. Gabbie reluctantly agreed and settled down in the sofa crease to watch Netflix. She found a cartoon that looked interesting so began to watch it. About 30 minutes later, Phil called her into the kitchen. Dan was waiting outside the living room door and surprised her by putting his fingers over her eyes. "Dan! What are you doing?" Dan laughed and said, "You'll see." Gabbie was curious but played along all the same. Dan led her through the house then stopped after a while. "Keep your eyes closed!" he said removing his hands. She smiled, exasperated, and did as she was told. A few moments of shuffling about, then Phil did a barely audible countdown from 3 then they both shouted "Open your eyes!"
