Lucy laughed, her laugh like a tinkling bell. I raised my head to watch her, surprise evident upon my face. I couldn't help but think to myself, 'Wasn't I in trouble?'

"To become a fae milady, is not an easy process." She moved over to my bed, letting her tiny form sit upon it as she began to braid my hair, "It starts when the King sings his fae song to you." I stared with the utmost curiosity, feeling a little unsure about the whole process.
"How can you tell if it's a fae song?" Lucy stood up, rising from my bed and standing in front of me. A genuine smile was planted upon her face.
"You will be able to feel it Bernadette." She took my hands, squeezing them slightly and continued, "The magic will draw you into his gaze, it will make you want to listen to it, giving his majesty your undivided attention." She let go of my hands and placed the hairbrush back upon the dresser and stood in front of me.

I looked at my hands, unsure of why they were squeezed and glanced towards her with curious brown eyes and hoped for an answer.
"How does it end?"
Lucy placed her nimble fingers upon her chin as if she was going into thought.
"After you sing your fae song Lady Bernadette, half of the bond between you and the King has been established. The only way to complete this bonding process is if you are able to hold both of his hands without his gloves." She stepped closer towards me and whispered in my ear, "Then, there's the graphic part."
"Graphic?!" I blushed a vibrant red, the embarrassment clouded my curiosity towards the ending of the lesson, "Do I want to know?"
"Well," Lucy chuckled before whispering, "the lovemaking completes the process. Of course, it's only due to the entwining of both the King and your souls into one body so to speak."

Lucy left the room, leaving me utterly embarrassed and the tiniest bit curious towards if I'd ever be able to be the one that hears Jareth's fae song. What would it be? IS there anything he'd do for me? Didn't he offer to move the stars for Sarah Williams? I stopped thinking, a yawn escaping my mouth and providing me with the cue to head to sleep. I picked up my guitar, the beautifully coloured instrument within my fingers and placed it in its case like a baby in its crib. Fastening the buckles, I moved the case into the corner of the wall on the left hand side before moving my sheets and heading to sleep.

JARETH'S POINT OF VIEW

He couldn't sleep.

Nothing he could do could allow him to delve into the deep slumber he would've liked and he laid there, thinking about the next few days. 'I'll throw a ball.' He mused, 'It will give Bernadette a chance to mingle in court and perhaps meet the High King and Queen. Whether or not they approve is something I'm apathetic about.' Jareth sighed heavily, feeling his heart ache heavily within his chest.

He hadn't felt this way since Sarah Williams wound him up and ran the labyrinth to re-claim her brother Toby. Bernadette was his new "precious thing" and he was never going to let her leave if it was the last thing he'd do. He conjured a crystal and watched her, adoration in his eyes as she tossed and turned in her sleep, lightly muttering sweet things as she dreamed peacefully. A yawn escaped his mouth as his head became foggy, his eyelids drooped and he fell asleep with the crystal upon his chest.
