As I hung my head to leave the bathroom, the lights flickered and the guitar amplifiers died. Anxiously looking towards the small window where the wind blew and thunder clapped, an owl almost identical to the one that visits me flapped its wings frantically and screeched as it attempted to fly in. I watched with wide eyes as the window opened wider than it was made to and the bird swooped in, transforming into the most majestic being I'd ever seen. As he looked at me, my gut gave me an indication of exactly who he could be at this given moment,
"Jareth? Y-You are him aren't you?" I trembled in fear, unsure of how he would behave.
He was dressed in black, a cape attached to his shoulders as glitter flew around the bathroom in every direction. His long blonde hair sat on his shoulders as his icy mismatched eyes stared into my soul.
"You're a smart one aren't you?" He paused and walked closer to me like a lion stalking his prey, "You wished yourself away precious?" I nodded as he continued, "I would clearly see as to why." As clouds of glitter grew more intense, I found myself holding my dress down as Jareth placed his hands behind his back, "I've brought you a gift." A crystal ball appeared in his hand ans I watched him juggle it between both of his hands.
"A crystal sir?" I hesitantly asked.
"Nothing more." He nodded, holding it out to me, "If you look into it, you'll see your dreams." I looked at him curiously, "Do you want it?" Still keeping my eyes on him, I nodded and frowned.
"Do I still need to accompany you to the labyrinth your highness?" Jareth looked down at me, surprise etched upon his features. I could tell he'd been expecting some sort of defiance like what he received from Sarah Williams.
"I'm afraid so." He paused to hold out his arm slightly, "Grab onto my arm." I did as I was told, feeling the world shift around me as I closed my eyes and waited for this feeling to stop.
I opened my eyes as soon as I felt still and surveyed my surroundings. I didn't have the slightest clue about where I was, but from what I could gather, I was in the throne room. A throne was positioned in the middle of the room against the wall. Judging by its size, it was big enough to sit in and lay in sideways. The walls looked like they were made of brick and the floor matched the materials nicely. As I walked further into the room and looked around, there was the odd chicken flying around and clucking while the goblins chased after them.
"Is this the throne room?" I nervously questioned, "It's just the way I thought it would look."
"You really know how to perceive things don't you?" I remained silent after his retort, watching him flick the ends of his mullet, "Emilia, please show Bernadette to her room. I have duties to attend to." A young goblin stood in front of me, her long red hair reaching her small shoulders in waves.
"C'mon lady! Kingy wants you to see your room!" I nodded and chuckled anxiously, mentally questioning Jareth's bitterness. Where did that come from? I don't think I'll ever answer that. I knew it was how he was, but still.
The both of us reached a golden doorknob, "There's ya room! I'll tell Kingy you is safely settled." I watched as she skipped clumsily in her return to the King as I opened the door. The room was spacious, painted a wonderful shade of light green with an emerald feature wall. The bed invited me like a siren to a man with its comforting look and was situated in the far right of the room. The double bed had green satin sheets with an emerald comforter on top. I sat upon the bed and found a piece of parchment with amazing calligraphy printed upon it. It read:
My precious thing,
I really hope you enjoy the room,
Make your stay as enjoyable as you wish.
-Jareth
I looked at the noted, moving it to the nightstand as I found myself deep in thought. Why would he do something so nice for me when he acted so bitter before? I didn't have the the slightest clue. Picking out a nightgown from the wardrobe, I threw it on and crawled under the sheets.
