The following morning was eventful. I was shaken awake, a young goblin rousing me from my slumber in order to eat breakfast upon the silver tray in front of me. Finding it was noon, I immediately rose from my bed to choose a gown from the wardrobe before being stopped by Lucy.

"The King has requested that I choose your gowns for today." I looked at her in disbelief, unsure of why and what was going on, "A ball is being thrown tonight in your honour."
"My honour?" I immediately felt very confused. Why would a ball be thrown in my honour considering I haven't even been in the Underground for long? What does the city know about me?
"The people are ready to meet their Queen."
I scoffed and stood in front of Lucy as she adjusted a corset on the back of the emerald dress and turned around to face her.
"I haven't even been coronated if I'm supposedly the Queen of the Goblin Realm!"

A stool was placed in front of me to sit on while Lucy and another young goblin began working my hair into a simple braid around the top of my head, the rest of my hair travelling down to the middle of my back. Facing the mirror to observe their work, I heard them whisper to each other before Lucy turned to face me, helping me up off the stool.
"Things in the Goblin Realm are different Bernadette." She paused and moved her hand similarly to how Jareth would move his if he conjured a crystal, "The King likes to introduce his future Queen to the people of the Underground and crown her after wedding her of course."
"So, I'm going to be flaunted to show every other woman that Jareth's taken?" My nose took to the air as I shook my head, "Nice. Really nice."
Lucy sighed, "Look, even though you're being sarcastic at this point in time I honestly believe milady that you feel something for him." I shook my head, willing to deny exactly how I felt for Jareth. I knew he was starting to grow on me and that maybe he was the reason why butterflies were exploding in my stomach each time I'd hear his name or talk to him. My thoughts were interrupted immediately by a jolt in my stomach, a bad feeling that something was going to change the outcome of the ball for tonight.

"Lucy." Lucy continued rambling on about how I could have feelings for Jareth, "LUCY!"
"Yes milady?"
"I need Jareth. Now."
